    Annie Bell Fobbs

    October 16, 1924 - November 15, 2021

Legacy of Life Annie Bell Fobbs, 97, of Richmond, received her wings Monday, November 15, 2021, after fighting a long battle at the Community Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Fobbs Sr.; sons, Otis Jr., James A. and Paul L. Fobbs; grandson, Michael Fobbs; parents, Lucy Ann and Willie Gregory; and sister, Marie Williams. Annie B. Fobbs, known to the family as “Duck”, was the daughter of Willie and Hagar Gregory, later the step-daughter of Lucy Ann Gregory. She was born in Littleton, North Carolina on October 16, 1924, the youngest of four children. She received her education in the North Carolina School System. The family later relocated to Richmond, Virginia and that is where Annie met and married her best friend and the love of her life, Otis Fobbs, Sr. From this union, four loving children were reared. She started working at Cedar Works and was employed for about 18 years. She later went to work for Miller and Rhoads in food services and retired from the custodial staff at Retreat Hospital in the 90s. Annie was a very active member at Greater Refuge Church, serving on the Usher Board and other church organizations. In her leisure, she enjoyed gardening, traveling, and cooking. Her cooking always made you for come back for another plate. Our mother was a caring and wonderful provider that adored her family. She leaves to cherish her loving memory children, Claude “Eric” Fobbs (Gale), Maude Fobbs, and Dorothy Speight (Joe); five grandchildren Lena Fobbs, LaTonya Fobbs, Danielle Fobbs (Everett Callis), Otis Andrew Fobbs (Lauren), Jazzman Fobbs; eight great-grandchildren, Makayla Fobbs, Markess Fobbs, Markel Fobbs, Makai Fobbs, Kevel Fobbs, Ahsha Fobbs, Kari Fobbs, Carli Fobbs; sister, Sandra Pernell; devoted uncle, Charles Rollinson and a host of other relatives and friends. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
