    Annie B. Brown

    March 7, 1924 - March 11, 2022

ANNIE B. BROWN was born to Alberta Street and John B. Lewis on March 7, 1924 in Crewe, Nottoway County, Virginia. She departed life on Friday, March, 11, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Nathaniel Jennings proved to be Annie’s loving father. Most of Annie’s education was completed in the Baltimore City Public School System. Annie was briefly married to Henry Garnett. Ultimately Nathaniel presented her to wed the love of her life, Barnett Brown. Diligently, Annie embarked on a nursing career following her graduation from The Community College. She worked in the hospital setting for a short time before deciding that home care was her niche. Following her caregiving career, she cared for children and daily assisted with raising the children of relatives. The community was well anchored in her advice for she was knowledgable in business matters. As Assistant Buyer with Hochchild Kohn, Annie spent 15 years fashioning customers prior to her retirement. All who knew Ann surely remember her as a spiritual woman. She always appreciated having a relationship with God, which impelled her to get baptized at the tender age of 12. Most of Annie’s spiritual growth was at Ebenezer Baptist Church until she became a devoted member of Mount Zion Hill. Pridefully she served in her congregation as Nurse, Usher and Missionary. Her talents and wisdom were also readily utilized in the community. Many beneftted from Annie’s solid advice. Annie will truly be missed by all who felt her love. She leaves to cherish her memory many family and devoted friends.
