Winifred Lee (Poopsie) Johnson, Jr. Sunrise: Wednesday, August 30th, 1967 Sunset: Saturday, May 26th, 2018 Winifred Lee Johnson, Jr. was born on August 30th, 1967, in Richmond, Virginia. He is his parents', Winifred (Tiny) Johnson, Sr.'s and Florence Trent's oldest son. Winifred was affectionately nicknamed Poopsie - "Possie" for short. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Markus Johnson, Terrell Manning, Xavia Gary, and Jaden Johnson and his granddaughters, Shaniya and Telayah Johnson, and Ya'Nasia Manning. Preceded in death by his younger brother, Jermell Johnson and his niece, My'Asia Patterson; Winifred is survived by his devoted parents, Winifred Johnson, Sr. (Connie), Florence Trent (Waverly), his sisters, Dawnamarie Pryor, Chvon Blair (Wilfred), Chwanda Johnson, and Ciara Patterson (Jymarse), and also, his younger brothers, Joseph and Jamar Johnson. He will forever be remembered by his godsisters, Donna Greenhill, Paticia Williams, Nyesha Cannon, Felicia Singeleton, and also, his brothers by other mothers, Rodney Shelton, James Goode, Jr., and Kitson Peters. His hosts of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many friends will forever cherish his memory. Educated in the Richmond Public School System, Winifred graduated from Jefferson Huguenot Wythe High School. He worked at Richmond Redevelopment & Housing Authority for 18 years before his illness forced his early retirement. Poopsie never met a stranger and spent decades volunteering in his community. To have known Poopsie means you were blessed to know a man who left memories that only yielded smiles, giggles, and/or roaring laughter . . . till tears flowed. Fred would give you the shirt off his back. Countless children were blessed by him during Christmas as he happily volunteered to be Santa. Winifred Lee JOhnson, Jr., our Poopsie, answered God's call on Saturday, May 26th, 2018, to come home and rest in the Lord. He was lifted and redeemed by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Much suffering and Patience brings Endurance. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Peter 5:10.
