Mrs. Willie Wilson

Willie Lee Green-Wilson, affectionately known as “Grandma” was born September 6, 1914 in Shelby, North Carolina. She was the oldest of three children born to the late Claude Green and Senora Smith.Grandma was called peacefully home to rest by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2011 Grandma was educated in Shelby, North Carolina. She relocated from Shelby, NC to Baltimore, Maryland in 1942 where she joined Southern Baptist Church. She received her salvation at Mount Pleasant Ministries, where she was a faithful member of the “Who So Ever Will” Club until her illness. She also received many accolades for her volunteer work at Lakewood and Fort Worthington elementary Schools. In 1964, Willie Lee Wilson was united in marriage to the late Willie Wilson. Grandma and Papa Wilson enjoyed 20 years of marriage before he past in 1984. She was devoted mother of three children. Her sons, William T. Henry Jr. and George “ Leon” McGill preceded her in death. Willie Lee Wilson was employed at Westinghouse where she retired with over 30 years of service in 1979. Grandma loved all Children, her home was always filled them. She was very loving, selfless, caring and giving mother who loved, sacrificed, supported, and always stood by her children and family. Willie Lee always maintained a strong sense of humor, laughing and joking until the very end. We say, “ Until we see you again,” to a beautiful mother, grandmother, and friend. We know that God will embrace our loved one in his bosom for her eternal rest. Willie Lee is survived by one daughter, Willie “Mae” Henry; one daughter-in-law, Linda McGill; four grand daughters, one in particular, who stood by her until the very end, Janel McGill- Mbagu, Cassandra D. Levine, Iona V. Nelson, and Octavia Hunt-Lee; seven grandsons, Donald Stocks, Michael Stocks, George McGill Jr.., Claude McGill, Sean McGill, Leon McGill and Deon McGill; two nieces, Willa Goodman of Ridgecrest, CA and Senora Green Rouzier of Albuquerque, NM; four grandson-in law, one granddaughter-in-law; 17great-grand, and 14 great-great grand children, and a host of other relatives and friends.
