Willie Hill

Willie Hill, Jr. son of the late Willie, Sr. (1904-1995) and Mary Hill (1905-2001), was born February 27, 1925 in Chester County, South Carolina. He departed this life on March 6, 2003 at Sinai Hospital.Willie was the second child of eleven siblings, four of whom preceded him in death. John Joe (1928-1981), James Thomas (1935-1973) and James Edward (1946-1996). He received his education in the Public Schools of Blackstock, South Carolina. At a young age he joined and was baptized at Mount Zion Baptist Church in South Carolina. He moved to Baltimore, Maryland in the early 1940,s and was employed by Bethlehem Steel Corporation until he retired in 1982.On October 13, 1946, Willie married the former Sallie Jean Hall and from this union of 56 years, ten children were born. Two sons Tyrone (1955-1956) and William “Bo” (1948-1972) precede him in death.“Mr. Bill” adoringly called by his children in their adult years, was a God fearing man who loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He cherished his family and provided love and support for his wife and children until our Heavenly Father peacefully called him to his Eternal Home.He leaves to cherish his fond memories; his loving and devoted wife, Sallie Jean Hill; three sons and two daughters-in-law, James Theodore and Minnie Hill, Thomas and Debbie Hill, Donald Erwin Hill; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Betty Jean Hill, Lottie Bonita and Lawrence Smith, Theresa and Jeffrey Green, Josephine Hill and Kathryn and Reginald Morton, all of Baltimore, Maryland; twelve grandchildren, Nicole and Michael Smith, Quiana Hill, Serena and Shanise Hill, Terrell, Joshua, Justin, Jerome and Darnell Green and Reginald and Christopher Morton; three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Javon and Jordan Woods; six sisters and one brother-in-law, Katie Jordan, Fannie McMicken, Lettie Jackson and Elizabeth Foster, all of Baltimore, Maryland; Voila Foster of Buffalo, New York; Geneva and Joe Farrington of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
