Willie Hall Jr.

Legacy of Life Willie (Pete) Lambert Hall, Jr. was born on August 1, 1945 in Durham, North Carolina to Willie Lambert Hall, Sr. and Catherine Dancy. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Alma Ruth Frazier (James) and Clematine Deloris Shaw Vincent. He received his formal education from the Richmond Public School System. Willie was united in holy matrimony with Jacqueline Yvonne Johnson on March 3, 1963 in Richmond, Virginia. Their union was blessed with six wonderful children. He was employed by Philip Morris USA as a machine operator for 35+ years. Willie enjoyed going to work, rarely missed days working. Once retired, Willie worked for the City of Richmond as a school bus driver as well as Henrico schools and drove for a daycare. Willie affectionately known as “Pete” was a dedicated family man. His family was his number one priority. Willie was warm, dependable, responsible and self-assured man. He was a protector of his family. He enjoyed family gatherings such as cookouts, beach trips and loved holidays with family. Willie was a loving father to six daughters; Willie had a total of 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Jackie his wife was his heart and soul. Their bond was cemented in 58 plus years of devotion companionship, understanding, protectiveness and compassionate care. Willie never missed a year of giving flowers and candy on Valentine’s day, always giving to Jackie until he ran out of gift ideas and gave cards and cash so Jackie can but whatever she wanted. Willie was one who loved with a pure heart, was often funny, a friend for life. In his leisure, Willie enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boxing and watching western movies and the news. Willie loved cars, especially Cadillacs. He enjoyed Saturdays cleaning his car, and meeting up with his friends, socializing on the good ole days and current events. Willie was a giving person, always willing to help you out, and expected people to honor their words. He made sure his message was clear with his extension of help. He never back down to challenges, he was always willing to do what it takes to get things done, he was himself no matter what. Willie was well organized, even in his sick days, he knew where everything was and what was due. Often he quoted “You work for what you want; no one is going to give it to you. Keep up your things and get things repaired properly.” He always said, “Nothing good ain’t cheap and nothing cheap ain’t good.” This advice was passed down to him from his granddaddy Charlie and to his daughters. Willie taught his daughters a lot of life lessons specially to expect protection, shelter, care-giving from your spouse, to be strong and self-sufficient. Willie’s friends often mention how Willie spoke about his daughters in a proud way. Willie “Pete” was a loving provider, a protector, an advisor, and an inspiration to us all. He leaves to cherish his memory to beloved wife, Jacqueline Y. Hall; daughters, Tawana Hall Meredith, Anitra D. Green, Beverly T. Bullock (Kelvin), Angela E. Cotman (Vincent), Tracey Y. Speight (William) and Cathy H. Richardson (Richard); grandchildren, Erica, Sierra, Nicholas, Sarah, Elaine, Joshua, Sherrie, Leslie, Jonathan, Lauren, Vincent Jr., Christopher and Chelsea; great-grands, Keon and Laila; brother, Michael R. Hall (Beverly); Aunt Elaine Cockerham, a devoted aunt, Annie Lee Patterson; a host of other relatives and caring friends.
