William Tucker

On July 26th, 1954, William Tucker was born to Reuben Tucker Sr. and Biddy Esther Tyson. He was a bright boy with an easy manner that endeared him to all who knew him. He spent his childhood in the company of his siblings and enjoyed fun in dangerous manners, such as climbing to the top a tree that was almos felled and riding it down as someone completed the task. His fun-loving attitude earned him the nickname “Football” and he was known by this name to family and friends alike. As he grew into manhood, he soon saw the need to know Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior. In 1973, he was baptised in Jesus' Name and filled with the Holy Ghost and was welcomed in the family of God. He came into Christ under the ministry of Pastor Bowen at True Gospel Tabernacle where he served as drummer. On June 27th 1981, William married Darlene “Dee Dee” Tucker and from this union came five children, Shirlinda Angel Tucker, Daennah Tucker, Tabitha Tucker, David Tucker and Stephenie Tucker to join Jerome Baylor, his eldest son. He was trained in the construction industry by his father and worked on large building projects such as Towson Town Center and the Baltimore City Jail. In his spare time, he enjoyed singing, reading and arcades. He was locally known as the “Pacman Superstar” and penned a song entitled “Did He Loose Your Mind?' Throughout William's years, he remained dedicated to continuously enjoying life and gave his later years to the care of his bed-ridden mother, Biddy Esther Tyson. His drive to see to her wellbeing was a matter that would brook no argument from any, even as his care of her took its physical toll on his body. Soon after the passing of his mother, ailment gained a greater hold on him. Though he fought the liver disease that ravaged his body and many hoped and prayed he would win the struggle, the book of life closed on February 26th, 2016 and William walked from the pages of time into the vast expanse of eternity. Yet we know that when the Lord Jesus calls the dead to awake from the dust, William Tucker will be among those who rise. Those who have gone on before him include his parents: Rueben Tucker Sr. and Biddy Esther Tyson; His siblings: Rueben Tucker Jr., Ethel Tucker, Jessie Tyson, Ernest Tyson, Norman Tucker and Joseph Tucker. He leaves to mourn his memory, his wife: Darlene Tucker; six children: Jerome Baylor (Betty), Shirlinda Angel Tucker, Daennah Tucker, Tabitha Tucker, David Tucker and Stephenie Tucker and Stephenie Tucker; Six Siblings: Gilliam Tucker, Teddy Tyson, Elmira (Dee Dee) Tucker Conley, Franklin Delano Tucker, Hillard Bernard Tucker and Sally Tucker Allen; Four Grandchildren: Jerome Jr., Jada, Jermera and Shania; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
