William T. Mosely I

William T. Mosley, I, son of Leon Turner and The late Harriet "Sissy" Mosley, was born on September 11, 1954 in Manhattan, New York. He departed this life, victoriously, on February 11, 2017. William began his journey in Harlem, N.Y and later moved to Baltimore, MD at the age of 9 were he attended Baltimore City Public Schools. IN 1973, he graduated from Paul Lawrence Dunbar Senior High School and upon graduation, William enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country with honor. He continued his journey by briefly enrolling in Morgan State University where he would later return to complete his degree. His ongoing commitment to duty, honor, and country lead him to re-enlist in the United States Army in 1976. While enlisted he severed several overseas tours, was a standout member of the Army football team and quickly rose to the rank of Drill Sergeant. He received several award and accolades some of which include: The National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Army Commendation medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and qualified as an expert marksmen. His greatest achievement while enlisted was meeting the love of his life Diane Hawkins in 1985. Their love quickly blossomed and they married just six months late in October 1985. They celebrated their love over three decades. During this time William and Diane devoted themselves to children through fostering, community outreach and youth obstacles. From this union and shared purpose they created a blended family. William was affectionately known to many as "Poppi" serving as a father figure to all he encountered. William's education and career endeavors included receiving an Associates of Arts in Business Management from Community College of Baltimore County and a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management from Morgan State University in 1997. William quickly climbed to the corporate ladder from his humble roots as Housekeeping Supervisor at Bon Secours Hospital from which, he was rapidly promoted to Executive House Keeper by Marriot Corporation. His exemplary work ethic and customer service skills soon lead to his transfer and another promotion to Hospitality Manager at the prestigious Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. After years of service there William returned to Baltimore to pursue entrepreneurship establishing Surgiclean Cleaning Incorporated in 1997. William and Diane served as co-owners of the family owned company with a legacy of dedication to great service. During his years in Baltimore William was very active in his community. He served as youth baseball coach, youth football coach, and umpire for the America Association of Umpires. In 2015 William was honored by Umpiring in the Little League World Series and being inducted into the Little League Hall Fame in Coopers Town, Ohio as an umpire. Throughout his decades of service he was intensely dedicated to the development and education of youth all around him. William touched countless lives with his caring heart, infectious smile, and words of wisdom. Among William's greatest achievements was rededication to the Prince Hall Grand Masonic Lodge of Maryland- Corinthian Lodge #62 where he rose to distinguished status of Worshipful Master. He leaves to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy, his wife Diane. His children Sukena Hawkins, Nicole Mosley-Brown (Phillip), Marc Bosley (Florence), Aiesha Jefferies, Sheena Parker (Kendrick), Nakia Dansby, William T. Mosley II (Paulisa), & Diamonese Mosley. Twelve grandchildren - Teyave', Terry Jr., Abel Jr., Christian, Camden, Micah, William III, Justice, KJ, Addison, Marleigh, and Pierce and one great grandchild - Tori. Brother in laws Eddie Hawkins Jr. and Robert Hawkins (Charlotte). Two God brothers Richard Mosley Sr. (Tara) and James Mosley. Two God children Anthony Thompson and Romaine Mosley. A host of other relatives and countless lives touched by his lifetime of service to others.
