Warren Johnson

Warren A. Johnson, son of the late Harry and Dorothy J. Johnson, was born on November 6, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on September 22, 2009.Warnie, as he was affectionately called, was educatated in the Baltimore Public School System at Fairmount Vocational Senior High School. Subsequently, he married Cassandra Gross. This marriage ended in divorce. He worked numerous jobs; Genstar Stone Product Company, Cockeysville, Md., Maryland Ship Building and Dry-dock Company, Fairfield, MD. Bethlehem Steel, Baltimore, Md., Cadillac Car Company, and Easy Method Driving School as an instructor for years.Religion was another fascination of Warnie’s. He attended St. Paul Baptist Church as a young boy. As a man he found his won spirituality, and studied many world religions. Warnie could discuss the finer points of Judaism, analyze the Christian plan of salvation, and expound on the tenets of the Jehovah Witness without offending any member of these faiths.Family was very important to Warnie. In spite of the physical distance between him and his three sibs, he made time to be a close father. Children took to Warnie easily because of his gentle demeanor.Warnie enjoyed listening to “old school music”, playing various pocket electronic games, bowling, tinkling with cars or and cheering his favorite football team, The Ravens, to victory. He enjoyed watching movies. Shane was his favorite movie. He was an advent reader. He loved to spend his time reading various medical texts and journal. He desired to know the workings of the human body.He was debater who enjoyed heated discussions. Warnie loved to come out on top of these discussions, too. He would sis there, take about 5 minutes to get his thoughts together and then the debate would be on. He handled himself in these heavy discourses like a prizefighter defending his championship belt.His eyes were captivating. They would easily disclose the thoughts of his heart. Waqrnie could look at you, without saying a word, and you knew exactly what his thoughts were concerning you or a situation.He leaves to mourn; three sons, Lee Ramsey, Warren Jr. and Michael; eight grandchildren, Deandre, Demetrius, Santez, Miles, Lena, LeeLee, Jaylene, Mya and expecting a ninth grandchild on September 30, 2009; four sisters, Mary C. Little, Rosetta Marks, Dorothea A. Lomax and Patricia Johnson; one brother, Dennis Johnson; two brothers-in-law, Robert Marks and Frank Lomax; to sisters-in-law, Patricia Johnson and Barbara Ann Johnson; five aunts, Annie Dorsey, Mildred Banks, Helen Broadley, Margie Banks and Phyllis Banks of Buffalo, New York; one uncle, Charles W, Dorsey, Sr., ten nieces, twelve nephews and about thirty great and great-great nieces and nephews. He now joins his eldest brother, Harry Johnson and his three nephews, Horace Sr., Marlow and Horace, Jr. on the other side of life.
