Wanda F. Green

WANDA FRANCINE GREEN was born on October 24, 1954, to the late Ivory and Mazie Howard of Cherry Hill. Wanda faced each day with unwavering courage and departed this world on January 20, 2024, at age 69, after demonstrating unparalleled strength and resilience during a twenty-year-long battle with a lengthy illness. Wanda was united in marriage with James W. Green Jr. in 1983, and they shared a life filled with love, friendship, and companionship. Together, they raised a wonderful son, Devin, born in 1980. A proud graduate of Carver High School, Wanda briefly attended beautician school and showcased her talents by styling hair in her parents’ basement. Her creativity and passion for beauty reflected her style and love for jewelry and shopping. Wanda had a passion for leadership and thrived in management roles. She served as the cafeteria manager for Johns Hopkins and Loyola Universities for many years, leaving an indelible mark on the institutions with her dedication and organizational acumen. Wanda also contributed her skills to Tremont Plaza, Marriott, and the Baltimore National Aquarium, displaying her versatility and commitment to excellence. Outside of work, Wanda embraced life to the fullest. She enjoyed attending bull roasts, dancing, cooking for her family, concerts, and spending cherished moments with her girlfriends. In her later years, when health slowed her down, Wanda found immense joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren Brieanna, Jayden, and Dallas. She showered them with love, shared family stories, introduced them to her favorite musical groups and artists, and enjoyed helping with homework. Her boisterous personality, anecdotes, and sage advice created lasting memories for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Wanda was predeceased by her brothers Nick, Phillip, and Cornelius Howard, and her granddaughter Brieanna Tyler. Wanda leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, James Green; loving son, Devin Green; adored grandsons, Jayden and Dallas Green; caring sisters, Jessie Johnson, Geraldine McCullers, Carolyn Hicks and Mardeen Edmundson; supportive brother, Maurice Howard; brothersin- law, Eugene Johnson, Elwood McCullers and Haiddie Edmundson; sisters-in-law, Narcisa Howard and Diane Green; daughter-in-law, Alysia Greene; cherished best friends, Debra and Regina; and a host of nieces, nephews,and other relatives. Wanda Francine Green’s legacy will endure through the love she shared and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those around her. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
