Wanda Elizabeth Morgan

Suddenly on January 7, 2002, Wanda Elizabeth Morgan departed this life after complications from Lupus. Born early in the morning on August 4, 1953, Wanda was the youngest of four children born to Vernon and the late Shirley Johnson. Baptized early in life at St. Pius the V Catholic Church, she later attended St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church where she received her First Holy Communion and Confirmation. Wanda was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools, and graduated from Carver Vocational Technical High School in 1971 where she studied business education. After receiving her high school diploma, she began working at Fort Holabird. She later transferred to the Social Security Administration where her hard work and diligence provided her the opportunity to become a Claims Authorizer. Wanda loved her job and took great pride in her accomplishments. It was at The Social Security Administration that she met her husband Victor. After a three-year courtship, Wanda married Victor L. Morgan on August 22, 1998 at St. Bernadine’s Catholic Church. Their love story began and has never ended. Binnie, as her family lovingly called her, can be described as fun loving, young at heart, and determined. She spent many happy hours playing pinochle with her husband, Victor, other family member, and friends. Line dancing with her cousins and co-workers was also one of her favorite past time activities. Binnie has been described as the “aunt who was like and older cousin”. This was clearly demonstrated in her quest to find and conquer the highest and fastest roller coaster. She truly loved and looked forward to all of the times she spent with her family, especially all of the family gatherings. We could always count on her to bring several of her famous dishes to add to the festivity. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Victor Morgan; two sons, Hakim and Kareem Forte; father, James Vernon Johnson; two sisters, Christine Watson and Deborah Carter; brother, Larry Ward, Sr.; three sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law and a host of other relatives and friends.Wanda was a beacon of light and source of joy. She will always be remembered and will truly be missed.
