Virginia Elizabeth Jones

Our beloved Virginia Elizabeth Jones transitioned into her new home on January 20, 2016. Her special gifts of caring, giving, fierce and devoted love for her children, and grandchildren, and her radiant beauty will continue to live in our hearts forever. Virginia was born January 9, 1943 in Yale, Virginia to the late Inez Taylor and William Parham. She was the only child but her mother’s sister, aunt Shirley carried her for several days as a child because she could not walk. They had a special relation-ship growing up together. Virginia was married to the late William Clarence Jones. Our mother Virginia worked as a Medical Assistant for the New York Diagnostic Center until she moved to Virginia to care for her mother. She chose the right field to work in because she had a compassionate heart. She received many acknowledgements and letters of gratitude from the patients and her co-workers. Virginia was spiritual. She knew the Lord, our precious savior Jesus Christ. Her relationship with God was complete. She would say “God is in Control,”and she believed and trusted in his Words. Virginia loved to dance, sing, shop and read poetry. Her favorite poem was Tommy’s Prayer. In every nook and cranny, throughout mommy’s home you find love notes she had written to her children and grandchildren. One of her close sister\friends, Gail said, “Virginia could walk into a room and light it up with her smile and radiant demeanor.” Our mother had a feisty and sassy side. She was tiny in stature, but “momma didn’t take no mess.” Over the years she received letters from heads of states, mayors, Oprah, Bill Gates and other philanthropists and dignitaries about whatever cause she believed was worth fighting for. To cherish the memory of Virginia E. Jones are two daughters, Vickie J. Robinson, (Donald Robinson, Sr.) and Ina Scott her “stinker baby”; son, Bobby Ray Jones; seven grandchildren, Damien (Solange), Brandi (Peppy), Bobby Jr., Sean, Isaiah, Javior, and Kristine, thirteen great-grandchildren, which some are named but others are not forgotten: Atyiana Skye “TT momma,” the apple of her eye, Lazarus “Nugget,” Bentley “Tubba,” Sean Jr., Addison, Amari, Treiquail, Brandon, Zquaeion, Kaitlynn and Emori; sister-in-law, Bertha Russell; special sister, friends and family members, Shirley Johnson, Linwood Taylor, Keith Taylor, Torrin Stewart, Sandra Bennett, Earline Nelson, Joann Mouzon, Stephanie Wyche, Gail Knecht and Leah Colyer; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
