Virginia E. Goldsborough

VIRGINIA ELSIE BLACKWELL, the seventh child of ten children of the late Garlan Stephen Blackwell and Helen Marie Jones, was born July 22, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland. The family moved from McMechen to Mosher Street when she was very young. Virginia was educated in the public schools of Baltimore and graduated from Douglass High School in 1955. On December 31, 1960, Virginia married Gordon Goldsborough and began their lives traveling nationally and abroad; he was enlisted in the Armed forces. They moved from Baltimore to North Dakota where they gave birth to their son, Anthony in 1961. They were later stationed overseas where they gave birth to their daughter, Laurie in 1965. Virginia was a loving wife and mother, who devoted her life caring for her family. On Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 4:30 p.m., Virginia Elsie Blackwell Goldsborough left her beloved family and friends in order to be with her heavenly Father. It is sincerely believed that Virginia's family and friends loved and needed her most. Yet, during these sorrowfully grief stricken times, it is very hard for the family and friends to understand the wonders of Jesus. She went from one loving hand into the loving hands of God. Let us say she floated on a cloud to heaven. She shared so many wonderful gifts with all of us. Virginia gave something so very special to us all, yet her greatest gift was love because she touched so many hearts during her years in life. Virginia came to the end of her life here on earth and He set for her a new one, Free. She wants not rights in a gloom filled room. Don't cry for a soul that is set free. Miss her a little, but not too long. Remember the love we once shared! She was fair and generous to all who knew her. She mad numerous friends wherever she went and will sincerely be missed by everyone who knew her. She was a true friend. Virginia Goldsborough is survived by: her husband, Gordon; son, Anthony; daughter, Laurie; one sister, Brenda; one sister-in-law, Sylvestine; nephews, Cornell, Tommy, Johnny, Troy, and Curtis; great-niece, Angel; three grandchildren, Phaylyan, Charissa and Frederick; five great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ty'veona, Terrell Jr., Faith and Jasmine; along with other relatives and friends.
