Victor Carl Oliphant

Victor Carl Oliphant, son of the late John H. Oliphant and Beatrix J. Parker, was born on March 10, 1955 at 2211 Madison Avenue, Baltimore, MD. He was known to be friends as “Uncle Vic”, “VO”, and “Doggie Dog”. Peacefully at 2:57 p.m. on Monday, November 13, 2006, Victor entered God’s mansion after fighting a good fight with no more suffering to endure.Victor was educated at St. Peter Clavers and in the Baltimore Public School Systems. He graduated from high school in 1975 and entered the U.S. army the very next day. He served in the Army from 1975 through 1980 at Fort Hood, TX, Korea, and Ft. Meade, MD. On December 5, 1980 he completed his term in the military as a Specialist 4.His marriage to Zebelean Oliphant on June 1, 1976 and Arnita Oliphant on September 17, 1993 ended in divorce but he always remained friends.Victor’s love of people and cooking led him to a career as a cook/chef. In this capacity, he worked at Deaton Medical Center, John Hopkins Hospital and Meals on Wheels. He was known as a hard worker and continued his commitment to helping others throughout his career and life.Victor’s love of his grandsons, Maurice and Marshon, was first in his heart. He was “Grand Pop”… the barber…the tickler…the hugger. He was a loveable father to his two (2) children and was known for his kindness, compassion, neatness, readiness to help any and every one, and especially his outgoing and energetic personality. He loved to dress, wear his Kangoo hats, bubble baths, candles, and talk to the ladies! Victor’s favorite hobbies were chess, playing cards, bargain shipping and partying, which included “hanging: with his buddies. He was a known “junk collector” and he loved candy, especially mints and jolly ranchers, and “Kool Aid”. He loved life!!!Loving memories will continue in the hearts of: his son, Maurice; daughter, Kiniecia; grandsons, Maurice, Jr., Marcus; granddaughter, Laci; girlfriend, Arnita Oliphant; two brothers John A. Parker, Jr. and Raymond P. Parker; two sisters, Shelia C. Parker and Adrea R. Parker; two sisters in law, Edna (Connie) Parker and Regina Parker, two god daughters, Genita Joyner and Dominque Boweley; friends, “Bo” Alston and Zebbie Oliphant and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and friends. He was preceded death by his two sisters, Gwendolyn J. Holley and Pamela V. Williams
