Vanessa McLean

Vanessa McLean was born to the Late Deacon Joseph H. Robinson and Deaconess Estelle R. Robinson on October 14, 1954, in Baltimore, Maryland. She was one of six siblings. Vanessa received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She excelled very well in school where she was promoted from the 10th grade to the 12th grade, graduating from Eastern High School. After high school, Vanessa attended Towson University to pursue a career in the health field. She gained employment at Rite Aid pharmacy, and later became a GNA, CNA, Home Health Aide, and a Private Duty CNA. She was employed with Union Memorial Hospital for over 26 years. Vanessa accepted the Lord as her Savior at a very early age and was baptized at the Fountain Baptist Church. She later began attending other churches before uniting with the fellowship of the Israel Baptist Church, under the Leadership of Rev. H. Walden Wilson, II on September 7, 1986. She served on The Fellowship Ministry as an Usher for 14 years until her health began to decline. She was also a member of the Finance Committee. Vanessa loved and respected Pastor Wilson so much that she made sure that after her mother, Deaconess Estelle Robinson, passed away, she continued the tradition of cooking him an apple pie for the holiday. She was a great cook and baker. Vanessa loved to read romance novels and watch soap operas. Vanessa and her sister, Danise ("Nee Nee"), enjoyed calling each other while watching "The Neighborhood", "Young Sheldon," and "The Voice." Vanessa and her dedicated husband of 40 years, Keith, enjoyed watching television game shows and reality shows together. They would frequent several restaurants, as well as go to the movies, but Vanessa still asked Keith, "when we are going to have date night?" IHOP was their favorite restaurant for breakfast. Carla was their favorite server. Keith and Vanessa never failed to celebrate their wedding anniversary every year. Her sister, Danise and brother, Delanore, would always make their daily check-in phone calls to Vanessa, just to make sure she was doing well and/or to see if she needed anything. She never missed mailing birthday cards and giving holiday gifts to her family. Now, do not get it twisted, she spoke her mind and put her foot down when necessary. On Thursday, June 13, 2024, while at home under the loving care of her dedicated husband Keith, Vanessa crossed over into glory to be with the Lord. Vanessa was a faithful and loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was united with her parents, her two brothers, Raleigh Robinson and Kevin Robinson, her sister Joan (Robinson) Beverly, her son, Robert Robinson, and her great-grandchild, Matthew, who all preceded her in death. We will sincerely miss Vanessa. Vanessa leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Keith McLean; her sister, Danise Robinson; brother, Delanore Robinson; sisters-in-law Shelly (Andre) and Paula; daughter-in-law Tiffaney Robinson; grandchildren, Tierra, Da'shanea, Alex, Davante (Ronnie); great-granddaughter, Serenity; nieces, Tonya Toney (Marshall), Yoland Renee Moody, Lennetta Beverly, Tiesha Russell Jones (Matthew); nephew, Kaszim Jamal Bell; great-nieces Brooke, Kayla, Kelly, Madison and Tenaj; great-nephews, Ricky, Marcellus, Marshall, Christian and Andre; her non-biological grandchildren, Nyesha, Noelani, Tori, Mi'Hon, Dementric; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends and the Israel Baptist Church family.
