Valerie D. Webb

VALERIE DENISE WEBB was born on September 17, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Lewis Sharp and the late Annette Woodard Sharp. She departed this life on February 23, 2026. Valerie attended and graduated from Eastern High School in 1975. She later completed several courses at Baltimore City Community College. A few years later, Valerie married and began building the family she cherished so deeply. She was a devoted, loving and low-key crazy mother to three children — two sons and one daughter — who were the center of her world. Valerie always vowed to tell her children her truth so they wouldn’t have to hear it from anyone else. She reminded them daily to do what makes them happy and to always stick together. Throughout her life, Valerie worked in a variety of positions, including construction, caregiving, and housekeeping. Of all the work she did, housekeeping was what she enjoyed the most. In 1986, she began working as a housekeeper and worked at several major hotels in downtown Baltimore. Valerie took great pride in her work and truly loved what she did. She loved it so much that she would sometimes bring her children to work in hopes of teaching them proper cleaning techniques but also to show them how hard she worked. By default, only her daughter managed to pass her unofficial training class. Valerie was known for her high energy, loud talking, party-ready demeanor but even more for her warm spirit and welcoming heart. She had an unforgettable presence, greeting everyone with her famous gold tooth smile. Valerie welcomed everyone into her home, which was often filled with children (nieces, nephews and friends of her children) and she would never let anyone leave hungry. She always offered something to eat from beer chicken or rice pudding to a simple sandwich and/or a glass of her famously sweet “diabetic Kool-Aid”. She loved celebrating life, dancing, hanging with her kids (when her sons weren’t trying to be her dads) and enjoying good times with family and friends. To know Valerie was truly to love her — and to be loved by her. In 1993, Valerie was blessed with her first grandchild, and over the next two decades, her family grew to include seven grandchildren — six boys and one girl. They spent many weekends with her, along with a matches, water fights, movie nights, pizza parties and somehow packing at least six kids along with herself into one queen size bed which has always been a family mystery. In 2024, Valerie decided to reconnect with Christ and joined Raising Zion Baptist Church. Where she attended faithfully and consistently every Sunday. Valerie was preceded in death by her mother, Annette Sharp; two sisters, Andra and Lisa; and brother, Julian. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her father, Lewis Sharp; two brothers, James and Louis; two sons, Todd Sr. and Jamall Sr.; daughter, Shenea; six grandsons, Kortz, Todd Jr., Kavon Sr., Kendric, Kai and Jamal Jr.; granddaughter, Skylah; great-grandson, Kavon Jr.; two great-granddaughters, Aziya and Zaina; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of other loving relatives and friends' great nieces and nephews.
