Trevor Leon

Trevor Leon was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, to Mary Kelly and was lovingly raised by his stepfather, Victor Kelly. He was an only child and grew up in Chinapoo Village, Morvant, where he completed his education and embraced the vibrant culture of his homeland. While in Trinidad, Trevor met and married Yulis Leon, with whom he shared five wonderful children. He later welcomed two additional daughters, each a cherished part of his ever-growing family. Trevor eventually relocated to Baltimore, MD where he raised his family with the same warmth, love and joy that defined his Trinidadian roots. He worked as a caregiver at Keswick, dedicating himself to helping others while providing for his loved ones. He also spent time driving a cab and later worked as a groundsman at Moravia Park Apartments, earning respect for his strong work ethic, generosity and joyful spirit. Trevor had a contagious energy and zest for life. He loved to dance, entertain friends and fill his home with laughter and music. His basement gatherings were legendary-- filled with good vibes, dancing and his favorite calypso tunes, which he played over and over, bringing the sounds of Trinidad alive wherever he went. A proud "mass man," Trevor was always ready to play mass during Carnival and celebrate his Caribbean heritage with style and passion. He was also a man of impeccable style, known for his sharp fashion sense and love of fine jewelry. Trevor enjoyed spending time with his friends at his favorite spot, the Blue Caribbean, where he had a permanent seat waiting just for him -- a place where laughter, stories and music flowed freely. On September 23, 2025, Trevor slipped into a peaceful sleep with his special friend, Sylvia McGinnis by his side, reuniting with his beloved mother, Mary Kelly and stepfather, Victor Kelly, as well as his two sons, Wayne Leon and Selwyn Leon. Trevor leaves to cherish his memory, Yulis Leon; son, Kenrick Leon; daughters, Shermin Leon, Lystra Thomas (Reynold), Michelle Howell and Teresa Dobbins (Lei); grandchildren, Robin, Renee (Omar), Raichell (Michael), Michael (Alanna), Erica, Zachariah, Chandler, Trinea, Devren, Tristan, Alyssa, Riannon, Kenton, Joshua, Akeela and Aubrey; along with a host of great-grandchildren - all of whom will continue to honor his legacy. He will also be remembered fondly by his cherished friend, Mary Demory, special friend Sylvia McGinnis, extended family, friends and all of who were blessed to know him. Trevor's life was a celebration -- a true reflection of his Caribbean spirit, love of music, laughter and community. His legacy will continue to dance, sing and live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
