Tracey M. McAfee

TRACEY MOORE MCAFEE entered into eternal rest on May 2, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1968, to the late Robert E. Moore and Faith Cecil Little. On June 22, 1996, Tracey united in holy matrimony with Gregory N. McAfee. From this union, they were blessed with a daughter, Cortney M. McAfee. Tracey and Greg were preparing to celebrate 30 years of marriage in June 2026. Tracey was the last born of seven siblings. She was educated in the Baltimore City Public School System and graduated from Walbrook High School. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University, where she also met her husband, Greg. A gifted performer with a love for the arts, at a young age, Tracey was a devoted member of Arena Players, where she sang, acted, and poured her heart into the stage. Her siblings affectionately called her Lilly because she loved putting on makeup. While in high school, she and friends cherished the opportunity to travel to Paris to explore performing arts further. She was also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Although she never had a license to drive, one of her favorite past times was going on long day trips with Greg, visiting model homes and trying new restaurants throughout Maryland and visiting the in-laws in Philadelphia. Her professional journey included ten years with the State Employees Credit Union and fifteen years of dedicated service at Arlington Baptist School, where she worked faithfully until her health declined. Tracey’s life was marked by love, service, creativity, and commitment — to her family, her community, her work, and her faith as Sunday school teacher, choir member and deaconess. Wherever she went, she formed genuine bonds with coworkers, children and parents alike, and she could never resist nurturing the little ones. Tracey had such a bond with the Smith family that they fondly called her the 13th out of 12 siblings. Her warmth, her voice, her laughter, and her unwavering devotion will be remembered always. Tracey had a special bond with three lifelong friends, Robin, Nicole, and Bertha. Tracey also spent a lot of time on the phone with her nieces, Tennille, and Kim. She well cherished her family bond across state lines in Virginia with Aunt Willis and Cousin Crystal, who was more like a sister and travelled often to see Tracey when she became ill. Robin and Tracey’s sister Diane both were by her side with love and encouragement from the beginning, assisting Greg and Cortney as caregivers throughout her illness. Preceding her in death were her loving parents, Robert Moore and Faith Little; her brothers, Billy and Jeffrey; her sister, Barbara; and two nephews, Antoine and Lloyd Jr. (Skeeter). She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Greg McAfee; her loving daughter, Cortney; three sisters, Diane, Cheryl and Marsha; brothers in-law, John McAfee Jr., Arnold McAfee and John Byars; sisters-in-law, Celena McAfee and Charlotte McAfee; her aunt, Jean Vass; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
