Torrey C. Leggett

Torrey Courtlan Dion Leggett, affectionately known as T.C., was born November 2, 1987, to Malcolm and Angela Gibson Leggett in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life suddenly on December 10, 2001. T.C. graduated from Sudbrook Middle School in June 2001, and was accepted and attended the Western School of Technology and Environment Science in Baltimore, MD. There he was enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. On any given day his mom and dad would come home to find cakes or cookies baked. He was billed as an independent, creative and adventurous young man who was willing to take on any and all new challenges. Seen as a reflection of his uncle Vincent’s childhood years, T.C. loved to dibble and dabble with new things, but stuck with few. He tried baseball, basketball, karate, etc; however his passions were swimming, singing (even though her couldn’t hold a note), shopping for the latest gear, checking out the newest movies, photography, steaming and eating crabs and just hanging out with family and friends. T.C. was known to be a leader when interacting with his peers. He would spend hours surfing the net and chatting with friends under the alias “Lilplaya4life2001”. T.C. treasured the wonderful opportunity to meet and mingle with so many relatives from both his maternal and paternal families covering several generations. He looked forward to spending summers at his family reunions, where he created a whole new extended family. An extremely sociable person, T.C. easily made friends wherever he went. Whether through his colorful stories or contagious smile, T.C. possessed a charm that would brighten anyone’s day; and his beautiful eyes were a gateway to his soul. Torrey will be truly be missed by all that knew and loved him. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Malcolm and Angela Gibson Leggett; grandparents, Angela Lofton and Charlie & Willie Mae Leggett; brother and sister-in-law, Erskine & Chenita Gibson; niece, Chelea Gibson, all of Baltimore, MD, one great-great uncle, Richard Smith, Brooklyn, NY; one great-great aunt, Arlene Tillery, Rich Square, N.C.; nine great aunts and uncles, Cattie Mae Simmons, Fayetteville, N.C., Mildred McRae, Oxon Hill, MD, Luther Smith, Halifax, N.C., Theodore and Gemera Smith, Janice Horton, Eleanor & James Brooks, Bernice Holland, all of Baltimore, MD; fourteen aunts and uncles, Henry & Mary Hillery, Michael Lofton, Willard & Pamela Braswell, Belinda Jennings, Alicia Melvin, all of Baltimore, MD, Terry & Dilcy McCoy, Colorado Springs, CO, Nellie Smith, Laurinburg, N.C., Patricia Wells, Maxton, N.C., Vincent & Aldena Leggett, Annapolis, MD and a host of loving cousins and friends.
