Tonya Bailey-Tillman

Tonya Chantis’e Bailey-Tillman was born September 19, 1975 to Lynn Tillman and the late Thomas Scott, born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Scott, Jr. and devoted great-grandmother, Ora Tillman. She was a graduate of Henrico High School in Richmond, Virginia. Tonya enlisted into the United States Army serving her country proudly and received an honorable discharge. Afterwards, she furthered her education by attending barber school. “Winkin” as she was affectionately known by her family and friends brought laughter, honesty and love to everyone who graced her presence. She was self-employed as a “Master Barber” at Untouchable Hair Parlor. Winkin was known for her loyalty generosity and big heart. She shared her life for twenty wonderful years with her soulmate Janice Bailey-Tillman. They were joined in matrimony on November 10, 2014 and have been inseparable ever since. Winkin enjoyed shopping with her wife and watching her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys. She loved hard and wanted everyone to feel her genuine love and unmatched loyalty. Her selfless spirit was best displayed throughout the community when interacting with anyone in need her willingness to give the shirt off her back or her last dollar. She had strong moral character and would stand alone for anything she thought was right. Winkin’s greatest pleasure was spending time sharing laughs with Janice and showing off her barber skills. She was very creative she could draw or fix anything she set her mind on. She loved to explore nature and all its creatures especially frogs and lizards. She had a big smile and laid back personality to match. Winkin will be remembered through her kind words and loyalty. She always expressed her faith in Jehovah God; she truly lived a blessed life full of love. On February 22, 2017, Winkin departed this life and left gifts of love behind that will always be treasured. She leaves to cherish her memory wife, Janice Bailey-Tillman; two children, TeQuilla Bailey and Sky Bailey-Tillman Cayn; mother, Lynn Tillman; five sisters; devoted brother, Jervon Tillman; grandmother, Sadie Alexander; aunt, Lilly Mae Thomas; and a host of other relatives who loved her dearly.
