Thomasine Spellman

THOMASINE YOUNG-SPELLMAN was the only daughter of the late John T. Davis and Emma V. Young. She was born on November 28, 1946, in Baltimore Maryland, and was also known as "Tommy," "Tee," and "Auntie."She was educated through the Baltimore City Public School System; upon her completion she received a Dunbar High School Diploma. Thomasine received additional training in the Health field and in Computer Technology. Thomasine had numerous accomplishments and achievements. Thomasine was employed as a nurses' aide and more recently as a secretary for the Human Resource Department at Baltimore City Community College.As a child, Thomasine faithfully accompanied to church. It was there that she recognized and utilized her gift for singing. Her first solo was "The Lord's Prayer." As she struggled through the vicissitudes of life she constantly turned to the Lord, affiliating with different churches for help and strength her struggles. She found solace with the Lord at the Memorial Institution of God where she fellowshipped for the last five years and where she accepted the Lord as her Savior, was baptized, and filled with Holy Ghost. Thomasine was a member of Memorial Institutional Church of God Apostolic under the leadership of the Apostle Albertus Maritn. In November of 2007, Thomasine became a member of Healing the Land Ministries under the leadership of Bishop Douglass E. Williams.Thomasine enjoyed the family get-togethers, as well as the church events, the out of town conventions, and the general fellowships. In addition, Thomasine enjoyed singing, children, making stuffed animals, baking cakes, and shopping (JC Penney), but most of all socializing on the phone. She will be remembered for her steed right, strong personality. God has rendered her victorious.On Sunday, March 16, 2008, Thomasine was called home to be with the LORD, after being hospitalized at University Maryland Medical Center, due to her short-term illness. Her only child, Richard, predeceased her. She leaves to cherish memories: brothers, Hakim Ali "Cris" and Samuel Williams; sister-in-law, Rebecca Young "Peaches;" nephews, Rahim Ali, Jermane Young, Otis King, and Maurice King; nieces, Shaneka Young, Aishah Young, Andrea William, Brenda King-Moore, Pandora Graham, Victoria King, and Joycie Garrett; aunt, Mary Young; along with a host of cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews and friends.
