Thomas Lee Morgan

THOMAS LEE MORGAN, beloved son of the late Branch Sr. and Marie (Mariah)Morgan, was born on November 11, 1928 in Dinwiddie County, Virginia. He departed this life suddenly on Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Johns Hopkins Hospital.Thomas was educated in the Baltimore City Public Schools. He accepted Christ at an early age. His favorite sons were "His Eye Is On The Sparrow," "How Great Thou Art," "Amazing Grace" and "The 23rd Psalm" by Jeff Majors. He worked many years for Bethlehem Steel, Lombard Food Company and later became a entrepreneur of antiques and collectables (your trash was his treasure).Thomas welcomed his first born, a son Thomas Lee Jordan (who preceded him in death) and soon to follow a beautiful daughter Mary Frances Jordan. Thomas met the late Evelyn Smith, they were united in marriage in 1949. Three children were born during their union. Theresa, Janthony and Ernest Lee Morgan. He later welcomed his daughters Virginia (Jenny) and LaCheryl.Thomas was known as Dad to his children, Pop to his grandchildren, Buck to his siblings and Uncle Buck to his nieces and nephews and to those who graced North Avenue and Castle Street. Buck enjoyed family and when he and his siblings along with their children would gather, you know you were in store for food, fun and a "talent show."Buck was a quiet and simple man who didn't need much to make him happy. The things that made him happy were spending time with Cookie, hanging out with his life-long friends "Brown" and Clyde. If he needed to chill out that meant a vacation to the home of his grandson Courtaney, along with his wife and kids. They would enjoy a weekend of Westerns, old movies and food. If he became ill he knew Pauline was coming to get her "Thomas" and care for him until she felt he was well enough to return to his home. Oh how special he knew he was!Buck met many people during his travels. He will be missed by all who knew him.Cherishing his memory are: five daughters, Mary Frances, Theresa, Ianthony, Virginia and La'Cheryl; one son, Ernest (Stephanie); eleven stepchildren; twenty-four grandchildren, Darian, courtney (Javlien), Beverly, Iantha (Gwynn) Yvette, Morris, Marcus (Kim), Lynnell, Pamela, Crystal, Tony, Tray Allen, Tyshica, Symicha, Brittany, davon, DaQwanna, Zaylin, Keisha and Theodore; numerous stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren too many to name, much love for all; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Bernice (Paul), Pauline (Ronald), Branch Jr. (Arnetha) and Clyde Smith; a special friend Cookie; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding him in death are six sisters, Annie Mae, Katie, Ruth, Virginia, Viola and Mayola, two grandchildren, Trennell and Troy and two great-grandchildren, Jermaine and Cedric.
