The Legacy of Thomas Andrew Dennard The beautiful and gentle spirit known as Thomas Andrew Dennard quietly transitioned from life to glory on July 30, 2015. He was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on January 8, 1956, to Frances Dennard and the late James Dennard. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Dennard. Thomas accepted Christ at an early age and received his spiritual guidance from Holy Life Church of Deliverance. Thomas attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth, Virginia and graduated from the Class of 1974. After graduation, he enlisted into the United States Army and served until 1980, where he received an honorable discharge. He later furthered his education and graduated with an Associate Degree from Richard Bland College in 2005. He continued his studies at Saint Paul’s College and obtained his Business Administration Degree in 2007. Thomas met the love of his life, Michelle and they were married on June 16, 2007. From that union they were blessed with three children. He went to work for Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 51, where he remained until transferring to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Richmond. There he was a Quality Assurance Specialist for 41 years. Thomas was an outstanding example of a very giving human being. He put the needs of others before himself and cared deeply for his loved ones. Thomas was the backbone, strength, and light of his family. He was a loving husband, father, son and uncle that had a kind and gentle spirit that was reflected in his smile. Thomas loved all types of sports and was a true Viking’s fan. Those left to cherish his memories: a beloved wife of 8 years, Michelle Dennard; three children, Ronnicia Thomas, Mya Thomas and Autumn Dennard; siblings, James H., Susanne and Stephen Dennard (Constance) and Joanna D. Wilkins (Cassius); mother-in-law, Dorisenia Thompson; father-in-law, James Johnson (Patricia); sister-in-law, Argerita Young (John); a host of nieces, nephews, one great-nephew and other relatives who were dear to him; a caring devoted friend, Robert Cooley. To Know Him Is To Love Him Thomas will be remembered as a person that was loved by all he met. He loved his family to the fullest. He also enjoyed every minute with his wife, children, parents, siblings and friends. Thomas was known for his smile, friendly nature and genuine concern for everyone. We will miss you, Thomas
