Thomas Davis

THOMAS DAVIS, son of the late George H. and Sarah Jackson Davis, was the second of ten children born in Williamsburg County, South Carolina on April 4, 1936. God whispered in his ear to come home to eternal rest on March 6, 2011 after a brief illness. He received his education in the South Carolina Public Schools. Afterward, he worked various jobs. He later met and married the late Dorothy Gerald Davis on September 24, 1955. Out of this union he had two daughters and a stepson. Later on in life, he had two more children. Thomas was known as “Tex” by everyone for the way he wrote his wide brim hats, and that special walk no one could imitate. He loved his children, but most of all he loved his Saviour, Jesus Christ. He would have you sitting on the edge of your chair listening to him telling you about stories of the Bible and about life. Thomas was a member of Bethany Bible Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Larry Davis and later Pastor, Elder Helen Jones, until he passed. He held the position as a son under the command of Louis Matthews in the American Legion Post #19 and a full member of the Baltimore Pride. He worked as a security officer until he took ill. Those left to cherish his memory are: five children, Thomasena Davis-Holland of Baltimore, MD, Cynthia Davis-Wilson (Gil) of Mullins, SC, stepson, Ronald Gernard of Mullins, SC, Allen Ingram and Alonda Ingram Davis of Baltimore, MD; three brothers, Rufus Davis (Jacqueline), Rev. Dr. Larry Davis (Wanda) of Baltimore, MD and Jerome Davis of Los Angeles, CA; three sisters, Elder Lorraine McCray, Pastor, Elder Helen Jones and Associated Pastor, Evangelist Henrietta Inabinette (Wayne) of Baltimore, MD; uncle and aunt, James and Beatrice Davis of Gooseneck, SC; five grandchildren, Renaldo Davis Jr. (Nancy), Shawnta Davis Danelle Burton-Dawson (Freddie), William A. Harry Jr. (Emily) and Aylisia Ingram; sister-in-law, Lena M. Davis; fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A brother, two sisters, and a grandson, Norvin Antonio Howard (Known as “Tezo”) preceded him in death.
