Thomas C. Barney

Thomas C. Barney Sr. son of the late Elmer and Clara Matthews, was born on May 25, 1941 in Baltimore, Maryland. He passed away at the age of 75 on Friday, October 21, 2016 at his home after a lengthy illness. Thomas received his education in the Baltimore City Public school System. Thomas worked at Tulkoff Horseradish Company for over 35 years. Thomas truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasure; Thomas was a crafty man Thomas had the ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Thomas was a very devoted husband and father, who would do anything for his family. His happiness was through them that made him fight his fight for life as long as he did. Thomas' number one passion was music. At a young age Thomas found his voice through music and he taught himself to play the guitar. Thomas foung his voice through music and he taught himself to play the guitar. Thomas had a music group called Total Control. Thomas C Barne "TCB" (Take Care of Business) and that is exactly what he always did. Thomas was a selfish man because he had a chance to move his singing career to the top to be with Diane Ross but Thomas being th noble man he was, did not want to leave his fellow ban member behind. Thomas just always wanted the best for everyone that crossed his path, leaving them with some type of wisdom along the way. Thomas is preceded in death by two brothers Elmer Matthews Jr. and Harold Barnett Sr. and two grandsons Anthony Graham Jr. and Dominique Dungee. May all their souls rest in peace. Thomas leaves to mourn: his wife of over 48 years Barbara Barney: two sons, Michael Thompson and Thomas Barney Jr: five daughters, Allison Barney, Alisa Williams, Stacy Williams, Cynthia Kagunyi and Mechell Barney-Morris; sixteen grandkids Alisa (Nee-Nee), Nicole, Latoya, Deandre, Nyshonda, Kenneth, Vaughn Jr. (CJ), Sakera, India, Te'Airre, Davante,Julia, Errol, Andre and Jamari, Keshawn; thirteen great-grandkids, Najah, Alexandria, Ken'aisha, Lynn, Day'Shawn, Mi'ya, Marcus, Charles, Nehemih, Jah'lil, Ty'lin, Kamiya and Leilani; three brogher, James Matthews Sr., Gearld Matthews Sr. and Gary Matthews Sr.: two sisters, Doreen Matthews and Duane Bates: mother-in-law, Evenly Rucker: aunt, Audrey Barnett: two sons-in-law, Joseph Kagunyi and Dwayne Morris: granddaughter-in-law, Lakia Williams: and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and many friends. Thomas will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.
