Thomas Alfons Barner

Thomas Alfons Barner, affectionately known as “Tommy” was born on March 16, 1971 in Spokane Washington. He was the beloved son of Thomas and Ruth Ann Barner. On Wednesday, December 23, 2020, Tommy arrived at his heavenly destination where he was welcomed by many relatives and friends. Educated in the Henrico County Public School System, Tommy graduated from Henrico High School in 1990. He continued his educational career and received his Associate of Applied Science Degree in Computer Electronics Technology in 1998 from EPCI College. He was passionate about the Computer and Technology Industry, and was always willing to assist others with their computer inadequacies. Tommy accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age and was baptized at Fifth Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. He became a member at the age of 12 and was involved in various church activities. He was also a member of Boy Scouts Pack # 476 and participated in many youth activities. Tommy was a very spirit but was willing to help anyone who was in need. In his free time, he enjoyed detailing and designing cars, playing video games, listening to music, and weigh-lifting to stay fit. He also enjoyed spending time with his mother and father. They often ate meals together as a family. Tommy loved his mother’s cooking and often gave compliments on her delicious potato salad. Tommy supported his parents with any needs around the house, to name a few: yard work, car repairs, and low maintenance equipment around the house. He often watched Sunday football with his father and cheered for his favorite team, Washington (Redskins). Both of his parents cherished and supported him in his life’s endeavors. He is survived by his devoted mother and father; six devoted aunts, Marie Wills, Rose Porter, Gladys (John) Coleman, Margaret (McKinley) Ross, Connie Barner; two committed uncles, James (Viola) Booker, Franklin (Denise) Booker, Sr.; two great-aunts, Rev. Addie Holloway and Laura Anderson;ten steadfast cousins,Sean (Tasha) Booker,Franklin Booker,Jr.,Julie (Boyce) Hicks, Jennifer (William) Cooper,LaFonda Booker, Tracy Ross, Kimberly (Pierre) Campbell, Brittany Ross,Denise Barner,Kevin Barner;four loving cousins who were like siblings,Keith (Mandy) Bracey, Kisha (Corey ) Christian, Cynthia (Jackie) Moore, William (Myran) Porter, many special friends, including Reverend Helen Clayton Brown,Gail Booker and William Porter,Sr. and other relatives and friends.
