Theodore R. Weatherbee, Jr.

THEODORE R. WEATHERBEE, JR. ("Nick", "Hawkeye", "Pap Pap", "Coffee"), son of he late Theodore and Henrietta Weatherbee, was born on January 8, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland. He departed this life on February 20, 2016 after a brief illness. Nick, as he was most affectionately known, received his formal education in Baltimore. During his young adult years he spent a lot of time with family on Philadelphia. He spent the majority of his working years as a Longshoreman until his retirement in 1982 after sustaining an injury. He also worked for Amtrak. Nick was an entrepreneur at heart. He ventured into various areas such as carpet sales and installation, owner of his own produce store, clothing sales, and other varius endeavors. Nike gave his life to Christ at a very early age and was baptized in 1950. His mother instilled in all of her children the importance of having a personal relationship with the LORD). Anybody that had the pleasure of either being related to or knowing Nick was left with an indelible mark. He was a very articulate intellectual who would always challenge you to a conversational dual. Maybe you walked away winning (at least you thought you won) or you lost. Nonetheless you remembered Mr. Weatherbee. He met the former Arlene Dudley, and in 1972 they were married. As a testament to his sense of family and love, he became the devoted father to her children as if they were his own - Denny, April, and Stacey, who preceded him in death. Of this union they were blessed with Little Henrietta (Missy) who became his WORLD. Nick was very family oriented. He was close to all of is siblings, four of whom preceded him in death (Bill, Bea, James and Juliette). He and his baby brother Arthur (Butsie), remained joined at the hip until the very end. His sister Mary (Tippy) was very protected by both of them. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cooking up his own concoctions that were many times very delicious. He always instilled in his children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, siblings and others the importance of striving to do better. He was a teacher and philosopher whose audience was often times his family and the community. He was a force to be reckoned with, he didn't pull any punches, shot straight from the hip, but always had good intentions. He leaves to cherish his life and memory: his wife, Arlene; daughter, Henrietta; brother, Arthur Weatherbee; sister, Mary Bush; brother-in-law, Maurice Bush; two sisters-in-law, Ruther Weatherbee and Denise Weatherbee; two granddaughters, Stacy and Marie; five grandsons, Tavon, Dumont, Bomani, Bakari, and Idi Jr.; ten great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
