Tammy Angel Craig

TAMMY ANGEL CRAIG, (57) of Baltimore, Maryland went home to meet her Lord and Savior on March 29, 2016. She was born to the late Russell Quarles and Gertrude E. Craig on November 7, 1957. Tammy attended Baltimore City Public Schools before attending the Community College of Baltimore, where she received her degree in Nursing. She volunteered in local community activities and was a member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church. Family and friends were Tammy’s love and joy. She grew up enjoying holidays with her family, friends and many cousins. She loved taking care of people and knew when she was very young that she wanted to be a nurse. Tammy loved to go to parties and was an excellent dancer. She taught her sisters the latest dances and was always the life of the party. She had that inner joy that only comes from the “joy of the Lord”! This joy was present even at the most difficult times in our family because it came from within. This is a gift from GOD that was inherited from her mother. Tammy grew up in a household full of love and joy. Her entire family has this gift and it is felt by all of our siblings, nieces and nephews. Tammy was employed at Victoria Inn for more than 20 years and loved the clients, her co-workers and her employer “Steve”. She often worked long hours and sometimes double shifts. She retired several times and often went back to work part time or just weekends. She truly enjoyed caring for others and did a lot of it. She had that gift from God of a “servant”. Tammy is survived by: her stepfather, Charles P. Craig; three sisters, Barbara A. Craig, Phyllis Sorillo and Debra, Craig; two brothers, Steven and Gregory Lawson; sister-in-law, Erma Craig; nieces, Marsha Phillips, Barbara A. Phillips, Pamela Ferrell, Zina Carryall, Tina Richardson, Monique, Desheena, Sandy Carter, Wendy Randall; three nephews, James Phillips, David Randall, Donald Evans; and a very special friend, Fletcher; a host of great-nieces, -nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Russell Quarles; mother, Gertrude E. Craig; two brothers, Charles and Reginald Craig; and two sisters, Shirley A. Phillips and June D. Carey.
