Tamara Pridgen-Douglass

TAMARA R. PRIDGEN-DOUGLAS , affectionately known to her family and friends as Tammy, was born to Valerie and Ardis Pridgen on August 5, 1967 in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. She was educated in Baltimore City Schools and graduated from Eastern High School. Tammy was a hard worker and found employment easily because of her diligence and kind spirit. Although she served in multiple positions, Tammy found permanent home with the State of Maryland and worked there for more than 20 years. Tammy was often recognized for her exemplary service. As a teenager , Tammy spent lots of time with her family, especially her sisters and cousins. She had a special relationship with her mother Valerie (who preceded her in death). Tammy enjoyed listening to old school club music and discovered a passion for reading at a young age. She continued that passion as an adult and could often be found engrossed in her Kindle reading urban Romance novels. She later met and married the love of her life Torran Douglas who preceded her in death. She enjoyed the simple things in life, especially spending time with her family. Tammy was a selfless individual with a big heart and was always willing to give to others. She loved her family immensely and always made sure they had everything they needed. She enjoyed going to the beach with her family and hosting loved ones and friends. She was excellent cook and a great host. Everyone always enjoyed her famous spaghetti. Tammy also enjoyed eating crabs and spending time at home relaxing. It was common to find her wearing a cute and comfortable sweatsuit with fresh pair of tennis shoes. She looked forward to movie nights with her family especially if they were watching action films which were her favorite. Her favorite cartoon was Garfield and trinkets of the character could be found in her home. During the weekends, Tammy and sister Sandy would visit the grandmother Alice, go shopping together, watch their favorite shows on television, and spend time with their grandchildren. She often had long conversations with her father Ardis as well. Tammy's grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved having them around her. She had an extraordinary relationship with her sister and best friend Sandy. They were very close and maintained their sisterhood and friendship for their entire lives. Their bond is eternal and will transcend even through Tammy's physical absence. Tammy was amazing daughter, big sister, aunt cousin, wife and mother. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving father, Ardis Pridgen: her mother, Valerie Pridgen (who preceded her in death); her sister and best friend, Santosha “Sandy” Pridgen, her youngest sister, Monique “Nickey” Pridgen: her daughter, Ceaira “Mousie” Jennings; her grandchildren, Daunte', Jaylen, Deaira, Kalyn, Trinity, Kamden, Gino, Legend, and Makai; and a whole host of aunts, uncles, cousins,great nieces, nephews. Other loved ones; and neighbors / good friends Gregory and Yvette Wiley.
