Sylvia Mae Pridget Crawford

Sylvia Mae Pridget-Crawford, lovingly known as “Aunt Mammie,” was born in Baltimore, Maryland on August 27, 1944, to the late Ethaniel and Lillie Mae Pridget. Aunt Mammie departed peacefully, aware that she was surrounded by, she was loved by, and supported by an abundance of family and friends. On March 12, 2019, she was summoned home to her final resting place. Sylvia received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, resulting in her Baptism and becoming a lifelong dedicated member of the Southern Baptist Church. She served as a member on the Jubilee Choir. Sylvia Loved the Lord! She had a Holy Intoxication!! “Drunk in the Spirit.” Aunt Mammie worked for and retired from Bethlehem Steel Corporation after 27 years of service. While working at Bethlehem Steel, she met and later married the late Hazel Crawford. Aunt Mammie attracted people wherever she went with her caring personality and radiant smile. She was a very giving person, it didn’t matter whether you were a part of the family, a friend, or a stranger on the street. She was always that Saviour, extending her helping hand! Aunt Mammie loved life, she was devoted and very strong willed! She always stressed, “the Family needs to get together, Let’s all be together!” Not just her immediate family, but the entire family. She was high on family and fashion. One could witness her every Sunday sitting in the second column, third row from the right, displaying her fancy hats and her echos of worship and praise. She was extravagant, she loved nice things. Everything had to be big because she liked it that way, making sure everyone would be included. She loved the Best of the Best!! Aunt Mammie was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, grandmother and friend. Sylvia was preceded in death by her two sons; Antomar Thomas and Alfonso Pridget; two grandsons, Malcolm Pridget and Anton Pridget (Little Anton (L.A.); five brothers and three sisters. Aunt Mammie’s memory will be cherished by: her son, Anton Pridget; daughters, Michelle Pridget-Green (Anthony Green), Acqualine Pridget- Wesson (Cottrell Wesson) and Mariata Thomas; grandchildren, Tabyi, Nikaya, Olajumoke, Oluremi, BreShay, Malaysia, Mekhi, Jamaal, Jaytrell, Shaquan, Kenjura; great-grandchildren, Little Donte, Isis, Nasir, Ryann and Raylynn; three sisters, Donnie Green, Helen Hill, Estelle Evans and a host of other relatives and friends.
