Steve Nancoo

STEVE NANCOO, born on the 2nd March 1957 in the island of Trinidad and Tobago, was the late son of Cynthia & George Nancoo (deceased); husband of Nancy Bethelmy; father of Michael, Michelle, Melissa, Melika, Shileka, Shivel and Shirel Nancoo; the step father of Nakeeta and Keith Lucas; grandfather of Destiny, Winter, Malik, Elisha Serenity, Mason and Marlee Lucas and Loyalty Jones; brother of Margaret, Doreen, Marilyn (deceased) Phyllis, Chris, Raphael, Rosalind and Charmaine; uncle of Ian, Glennis, Tabitha, Darcel, Tricia, Brandon, Patrina, Krystal, Kevin, Stacy Ann, Rachel, Racine, Brent, RJ, Denzel, Rachel, Shine II, Kyrell, Solomon, Simone and Warren; great uncle of 23; brother-in-law of Glen “Red Box” Roberts and others; and cousin of the Henrys, Holder, Richardsorfs and the Britons. He was also friend to the Moncrieffe family, Rossi, Sam, Jerry, Warren, Benjamin Ben and a host of others. As we celebrate Steve Nancoo’s life, we can all reflect on his love for his family, love for his favorite sport soccer, love for dancing in which he won every dance contest for every church bazaar he attended while he lived in Trinidad. Bundu also loved kite making where he would usually cut his mother’s curtain for the kite tail when he did not have the money for thread or as they say “ma ling”. He loved his green seasoning, stew fowl and chutney. He always had a friendly bit of advice and scripture to offer anyone who would listen. Often you would hear him before you saw him because he was the most boisterous in any groups settings. “Bundu,” as he was affectionately called by everyone, thought he was the best all fours player and dancer. He was known as the Minister of Home Affairs (meaning he knew every family member’s birth date). Steve’s purpose on earth has ended as God called him home. He fought a good fight and now he has found his wings. He will forever remain in our memory as the family alarm clock in which he would wake everyone up early in the morning with a a phone call or a video call just to chit chat. May his legacy live on. Fly high husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
