Spencer E. Goodwin, Sr.

SPENCER EARL GOODWIN, SR. was born on February12. 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to Marie Goodwin and Isaac Linton. He stepped into glory on July 22, 2016 following a brief illness. Spencer accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 1993 when he united with the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. He was baptized on September 21, 1993 and served faithfully on the Usher's Ministry. When he stopped attending on a regular basis he continued to support the Church financially and would mail in his Tithes and offerings. Grateful for his new life in Christ and a new chance at life following a period of addiction, spencer showed his gratitude by chairing narcotics anonymous (N/A) meetings throughout the City and sharing his testimony. Goodie, as he was called by co-workers, was employed with the United States postal service and Retired in February 2013 after 40 years of government service. He received his early education in the Baltimore City Public School System and served in the United States Air Force from 1971 to 1973 recieveing an honorable discharge in 1973. Speezie, as he was fondly known by family and friends, was the best Father, Grandad, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, and Friend anyone could have. He enjoyed attending the Ravens Games, Traveling, playing dominoes, chess, spades, and checkers. Each year he would attend the Jazz festivals with his sweetheart, Diane Page, and her family. Oh yes, he loved going to the casino, playing the lottery, and watching his favorite TV program “Love and Hip Hop”. His favorite pastime was spending time with his sons, grand kids, family and friends. Spencer leaves to cherish his memory: two sons, Spencer E. Goodwin, Jr.(Kim), and Dominic Goodwin; one sibling son, Sean Goodwin (Shetarah); four grandsons, Spencer Tyquan Goodwin, Kawon Goodwin, Mulik Goodwin, and Dilan Michael Dove- Goodwin; one granddaughter, Malia Goodwin; two sibling grandchildren, Sean and Sheniyah; two sisters, Valerie Parker and Lillian Trotman ( Shelton); three brothers, Leo Goodwin, Linard Goodwin, and William Richard, one brother, Charles Goodwin, preceded him in death; to half- brothers Marvin Linton and Isaac Maurice Linton (Gloria); two half sisters, Jaqueline Linton and Geneva Goode (Leo); his special sweetheart Diane Page and her daughter Demetria Page( Dee); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and many adopted family members.
