Shirley Ann Daniels

Shirley Ann Daniels, the daughter of the late Myrtle and Charles Thompson and widow of the late Rudolph Daniels, was called home by God in his infinite wisdom on Thursday September 24, 2015. Shirley was born on February 23, 1933 the third of twelve children. She was a graduate of Dunbar High School and continued her education at the Community College of Baltimore. Shirley was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis Catholic Church and continued her journey with Jesus Christ at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in 1964. Later Shirley joined Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church in June, 1979. At Bibleway Missionary Baptist Church, Sis Shirley Daniels was a Deaconess and also served on the Usher board. Sis. Daniels went on to help start the Usher board at the Maryland Baptist Convention, where she served for many years. As a founding member of the Silver Senior Citizens group, Sis. Daniels engaged in many activities such as Cooking for large groups, even helping with making 50 lbs of Potato Salad for many events. Also as a member of the Silver Senior Citizens group they would make beautiful craft items that they would share with the members of the Church and special craft gifts for the children. Sis Daniels was an avid gardener, who participated in gleaning for other elderly members who where shut in. Sis. Daniels would transport other elders of the church to their doctor appointments and check on them constantly, making sure that they knew that they were loved and cared for. Sis. Daniels always remain a constant leader in all her endeavors and encouraged others to keep things in decency and order. Everyone enjoyed the many trips that Sis. Daniels would plan, like the yearly trips to Sight and Sound, church picnics and many more outings. Shirley Daniels was a wonderful mother to her seven children. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her surviving children, Larry, Shirley and Phillip. Shirley's heart was broken over losing four of her children, Aaron, Lehonor, Carlette, and Brian. Shirley Daniels leaves to mourn her passing, 17 grandchildren and a host of many great-grandchildren, nieces, grand-nieces, nephews, and grand-nephews. Shirley is survived by her three sisters, Myrtle, Patricia, and Norma and her brother, Charles Jr., sister-in-laws, Dorothy Moales and Annie Mae Daniels. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory a loving friend, Trustee Johnnie Hardy Sr. and his two loving sons, James Earl and Tyrone. Shirley Daniels also leaves behind several good friends especially Sis. Marie Hunt, who constantly visited her over the many years. Including the many members of Bibleway Missionary Church who would visit her and help with her rehabilitation.
