Shirley Carroll

Shirley Carroll, departed this life on February 2, 2017 due to a sudden illness, She was born to the late William and Helen M. R. Venable on October 3, 1939 in Baltimore, Maryland. Shirley attended Baltimore City Public Schools. Upon the completion of her education she took a position with Johns Hopkins Hospital as a Lab Technician, Later in her life she decided she wanted to take care of her family and friends, She helped to take care of many children in her family. Shirley would take care of everyone's child while their parents were at work. Shirley loved each and every child she took care of as her own. Her family -oriented demeanor made her an excellent help to her community and most of all her family; respected and loved by many Shirley continued her duties until the very end. On December 24, 1961 at the tender age of 22 she met and married the love of her life Samuel Carroll, Sr. (b.k.a.Hoggie). A union which last 27 years until his death on November 23, 1990. Out of this union four children were born -Andre Venable, Sr. Samuel Carroll, Jr., the late Jacqueline “Jackie” Davis and the late Anthony “Peter” Carroll, She also leaves to mourn loving step-daughter Weltonia Ingram. Shirley was known to be a loving caring and devoted wife, mother, daughter and friend to all who knew her. She loved to cook and was most famous for her biscuits. Whenever she would go she would make a lasting impact. Memories of Shirley making herself at home by having a special chair at everyone's house. Whenever she would come you already knew you had to get out of her chair” If you didn't know you would hear someone say “Here comes Shirley, get out of her chair.” Her love for fashion was undeniably one the best in the family, her love for long black leather coates, big earrings, and fashionable wigs go without measure. Shirley loved spending time with family and sharing a special bond with her brother Woody and younger sister Brenda, nieces grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will truly be missed. She leaves to mourn; her children, Andre Venable. Sr., Samuel Carroll, Jr and Weltonia Ingram; grandchildren, Andre “Man Man” Venable, II. Shaneka Venable-Hester (Mark), Anthony “Poo Poo” Venable Anthony “Willis” Davis, Shemar “Marty” Anderson, thirteen great grandchildren, four sisters, Denise (Leroy) Harrison, Mallory Venable. Evelyn Carter and Carol Butcher; four brothers, William (Barbara) Venable. Don Venable . William A. Venable, Jr. and Raynard Venable; sisters-in-law, Angelina Handy, Phyllis James-and Pearl Corprew; two devoted friends, Brenda Hargrove and Connie, and a host of other relatives and friends. Also preceding her in death; her loving husband, Samuel Carroll, Sr. her mother and father, Helen and William, Sr. her daughter and son, Jackie and peter, sister Brenda Gonsalves, brother-in-law. George and devoted daughter -in- law, Maxine.
