Shirley Ann Campbell

SHIRLEY ANN (SNELLINGS) CAMPBELL, daughter of the late Minnie Belle Rowe and Everette Snellings; born on June 6,1937 in Raleigh,North Carolina. She departed this life on October 23, 2012 after a short illness. She attended the Baltimore City Public School System early; then moved to Turners Station where she went to Sollers Point High School. She married the late Irving Brown Brown, Jr. and from this union she had four children, Diane, Yvette, Frankie (who preceded her in death) and Eness. She later married the late Roosevelt Campbell and from this union she had one daughter, Tiffany and five stepchildren, Ann, Patricia, Renee, Charlene and Kenny. She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Toraino, Sharod, Alanda, Chaz, Christine, Raschad, Neil, Antwan and Shawn; two great-grandchildren, Tahje and Isaiah; three sisters, Eleanor (who preceded her in death), Barbara and Kelly; three brothers, James Phillip and Gerald; two sisters-in-law, Stephaine and Diane ; two brothers-in-law, Joe (who preceded her in death ) and Todd; two son-in-law, Mim and Reggie;and she was blessed with one aunt, Violet; and one uncle, Ernest Lee lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She loved children and babysitting. Most of her children's friends called her “Mama.” The lord put many children in Mama's life that she loved as her own,that included Nia, Christina and Lakayla. Mama enjoyed good gospel music. She had discovered that praising God in songs lifted her spirits, cleared her head and opened a place for the Holy Spirit to speak to her. Mama loved television, especially Westerns and saop operas. Saturdays was one of Mama's favorite days. Going shopping with Eness to Walmart, BJ's and Gaint. She loved old music, singing dancing and playingcards. She enjoyed hanging out with daughters and sisters in south Carolina. But her bedroom was her haven, that's where she would go to watch television, look in all those catalogs and order everybody she loved birthday gifts. Nobody was a stranger to Mama, she would take in anybody that needed a helping hand. And although he was listed last, he was always fist The love she had for the Lord Jehovah. Mama was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her.
