Sheila Andrews Fields

With profound love and cherished remembrance, we celebrate the life of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Sheila Andrews Fields, who entered eternal peace on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Sheila was a kind and patient woman, lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and she did so with a warm smile that could light up any room. The countless lives she touched both personally and professionally is a true reflection of a life guided by divine purpose and the enduring power of God’s love. Born to Magnolia Pierson Andrews and the late Gilbert Lee Andrews, Sheila brought joy and positivity to everyone who knew her and always had a vision for the family she wanted. On June 18, 1978, she married the love of her life, Bruce Fields Sr. They were not only husband and wife, but were also best friends and did just about everything together. This year would have marked 47 wonderful years of marriage and blissful union that stood the test of time. Sheila was a proud graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, where she was known as a spirited Kougar. She later graduated from Mary Baldwin College and went on to balance a successful career while managing a busy household where the children were involved in various sports and extracurricular activities. Sheila worked at Verizon, holding multiple leadership roles and mentoring many young professionals, giving them the tough love and sage wisdom needed to climb the corporate ladder. Her children also benefited from those professional lessons and will forever hold them close while following in their mother’s footsteps by always making time for family. Family was everything to Sheila. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her and there was rarely a day she didn’t call or FaceTime just to see their faces and share her love. Being present was her love language, and everyone in the family knew they could always count on Sheila. She was thrilled to be a grandmother and took great pride in being active in every part of the lives of her grandchildren. From being a fan in the stands, traveling for grandparents’ day, and routine school pick ups to wiping tears, and hosting sleepovers—Shelia was always there. Sheila was a woman of unwavering faith and a devoted member of The Saint Paul’s Baptist Church. She loved the Lord deeply and lived her life with compassion, humility, and purpose. She leaves behind a legacy of deep and lasting love that will live on in the hearts and through the lives of every person she touched, especially her beloved family. Sheila leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband Bruce Fields Sr., children Kevin (Anita), Kimberly, Tiffany, (Lavon) and Bruce Jr. (Alicia); grandchildren Keyirra, Kennedy, KJ, Chase, Averie, Laila, and Yara; siblings Beatrice Dorch (late William Dorch), Gilbert Andrews (late Doris Andrews), late James Andrews and Charles Andrews; devoted friends Gloria Carmichael, Cassandra Wilkerson, Pearl Langhorne, Gloria Bellamy Hicks, Denise Bellamy Martin and Sheila Bellamy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends.
