Sharon L. Wheeler

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:" II Timothy 4:6-7 Sharon LaRae Wheeler was born on February 8, 1945 to the late Clauzell Streat and Lucille Booker-Streat. After a brief illness, on March 7, 2018, God sent His Angels to close her earthly book of life at Sinai Hospital. Sharon received her education in the Baltimore City Public Schools. With an administrative mindset, she worked for the Baltimore City Public School System 34 years. Everyone knew "Sharon Wheeler" in Position Control (H.R.)! She unequivocally touched the lives of so many people and helped to jump start their careers. Sharon sincerely appreciated her assignment in and outside the workplace and because of her caring, compassionate and motherly character, the relationships that were forged were not only impressionable but had an everlasting effect...she considered them her kids and they accepted her as "Mom." Sharon enjoyed going to the casinos. One of her greatest joys was hanging out and spending quality time with her grandkids and great-grandkids...they were truly the apple of her eyes. She was such an involved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and always wanted to know exactly what everyone was doing. She was a choreographer, if you will, of not only her life but of everyone whose life she was involved in. Sharon sat behind a desk, a kitchen table or in her living room and everyone knew exactly what she wanted and when she wanted it because she would always let them know. Her contagious smile and laughter lit up every room she entered and they will live in us all forever. Eight years ago, Sharon moved to Pikeswood Park Apartments where the second phase of her life began. She was so happy there and everyone there became her family...she became known as the "Momma" the "Planner" and the "Director." She got things done and people knew that they could rely on her. Sharon loved hard. She loved her husband, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids. Each and every one of them brought a joy to her life that was unmatched. However, Jesse, her beloved husband who preceded her in death, was her soulmate and everyone who knew her knew this was a fact. They truly loved each other and we have the blessed assurance that they are in each other's presences once again and will live happily in eternity. Sharon rests in peace knowing that she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very young age. She attended Fountain Baptist Church with her family for years and later became a faithful member of The Lord's Church. Sharon loved her Bishop, Bishop Kevia F. Elliott, and everyone knew this! In the soon coming celebration of eternal life, Sharon now awaits it with her loved ones who preceded her - Jesse, her husband who was the love of her life; her daughter Fonda; and, her brother Raymond ("Bo-Bo"). The beautiful legacy Sharon leaves and many precious memories will be cherished by her devoted sons, Derek, Aaron (Desiree) and Darron; her eleven grandchildren, Derek Jr., Brandon, Devin, Kolby, Dereka, Ryan, Jaden, Jorden, Miles, Michael and Marcus; four great-granddaughters, Kimora, Braelynn, Danell and Aalyia; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Mercer, Janice Taylor and Anitra Clark; one brother-in-law, Benny Wheeler; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
