Sharon Gray- Brewington

Sharon Denise Gray- Brewington of Chesterfield,Virginia,entered into eternal rest peacefully in the loving arms of her husband,Chuck,on Wednesday afternoon,May 22,2013 at their home. She was born April 4,1959 to Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Mildred Parker Gray in Durham,North Carolina. Sharon received her early education in the Durham County Public School System and was a graduate of Hillside High School Class of 1977. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Virginia State University in Petersburg,Virginia. At an early age,Sharon was baptized and joined in fellowship with Lakeview Missionary Baptist Church in Durham,NC.She served actively in her church until she relocated to Richmond,Virginia,after graduation from Virginia State University. Sharon was an active member of First Baptist Church in Richmond,Virginia,where she served as a dedicated member of the Basic Blessing Clothing Ministry. Sharon was united in Holy Matrimony to Roosevelt "Chuck" Brewington on September 22,2007 in Richmond,Virginia. She has one daughter,Shante` Denise Sherman,her precious jewel. Sharon,also know as Niecy,had a very successful professional career including her employment with the Virginia Lottery. She recently retired from UPS Freight where she worked as an Inside Sales Account Manager. Sharon had a servant's heart. Her service to community was broadened,when she became a member of the Alpha Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta.,Incorporated,in Fall of 1980. Her service to others continued as a proud charter member and dutiful active member of Chesterfield Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority ,Incorporated. She loved her Sorors and all they embodied. Sharon worked diligently as the Public Relations Committee chair,a member of Program Planning and Development Committee,and the Anniversary Committee. She stayed true to her lifetime commitment to Delta Sigma Theta to the very end. Sharon was well known for her classic style and brilliant heartwarming smile. Sharon had strong unwavering love for her family and honored all of her relationships. She leaves to cherish her precious memories,devoted husband,Roosevelt "Chuck" Brewington;precious daughter,Shante` Denise Sherman;parents,Willie and Mildred Gray;three brothers,Willie Aaron Gray of Charlotte,NC,Gilbert Parker of Durham,NC and Terry Morgan of Durham,NC;two sisters,Brenda Parker(Mike) and Reverend Valind Mack(Richard) all of Durham,NC.;Godmother,Ruth Thomas Wynn;Godchildren:Danielle,Bradley,and Ben Greene,Blake Poole,Briana Nicole and Sierra Cristina Oates;mother-in-law,Frances Brewington;father-in-law,Roosevelt Brewington;one sister-in-law,Robrina Brewington;two brothers-in-law,Louis and Nolan Brewington,all of Bennettsville,SC.;aunts,Minnie Tate,Edith Melton(Clarence),Brenda Lassiter,Debra Walters,Barbara Ann Randolph and Elsie Porter;uncles,Leroy Williams(Carol),Steve Randolph(Virgella),Deacon Joe Porter(Marita),Frank Porter,Elmer Randolph and Carlton Porter (Eddie Mae);a host of nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends. In the Gory of God's love we celebrate her passion for life and her dedication to God, family,and community as she received her Crown of Life.
