Scott Henson

Baltimore, Maryland on September 17, 1969 to the late Vicki Dale Henson and George “Sam” Grant, Jr. He was educated in the Baltimore County Public School System, graduating from Woodlawn Senior High School in June 1988. Scott understood the importance of having a relationship with God. He accepted Christ at a young age and continued his relationship with God into adulthood. Scott became a sports enthusiast at an early age. He played baseball in school and won many individual awards including most valuable player (MVP) for Woodlawn High School. He was a die-hard fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, the Baltimore Orioles and Baltimore Ravens. Scott never missed a game and had a host of game-day rituals. In addition to sports, Scott enjoyed playing golf and fishing. He was also a well-respected cook. Seafood dishes were his his specialty. Scott loved taking trips with his mom and often spoke about one particular trip they took to New York City. This trip, along with a book given to him by his mom, exposed him to the world of real estate development. He was awestruck by how one developer in particular, not to mention any names, managed to become the guru of real estate owning and buying property in the New York City area faster than the average guy. Scott was motivated to do the same. He went on to complete his real estate education and became a licensed agent. Scott was an entrepreneur at heart, just like his mom, and had a love for older homes. He established a real estate development business, where he purchased, renovated and sold homes in the Baltimore and Atlanta metro regions. He had a vision of establishing a family owned and operated real estate development company and was actively working towards relocating to Atlanta with his fiancé Limesha to fulfill this dream. Above everything, Scott valued family. His mom instilled this in him at a young age. After her passing, it became Scott’s mission to carry this leadership role in her honor. On a regular basis, he reminded the younger generation of the importance of picking up where his parents, aunts and uncles left off so that we could work together to connect the family. In January of 2008, Scott became the proud father to Jordan Henson. As a newborn, Jordan was the spitting image of Scott’s mother, Vicki. Jordan changed Scott’s life forever. His son was always on his mind and Scott spoke about him often. His deep love for his son inspired him to expand his career goals as he wanted to build a financial nest egg for Jordan’s future. In addition to having a greater vision for himself, he had dreams for his loved ones. Scott had the ability to see the potential for growth in others and was a source of encouragement to many. He was eager to offer his advice out of love, advice that many will take to heart. Scott departed this life suddenly on February 9, 2018. His physical absence from the lives of all who knew and loved him is a tremendous loss. He leaves behind to cherish his memories: His son, Jordan Henson; fiancé, Limesha “Mesha” Laster; Grandparent, Ardelia Carroll; siblings, Robert Naylor Jr. and Rhonda Gordon; uncles, William Dorian Henson (Arlene), Wyatt Marvin Madden (Vonda), Lester Rainey, Donald Rainey (Judy), Charles Walters (Doriene), the late Rodney Lee Henson (Louise) and the late Melvin Andrew Madden (Deborah); cousins: Michael and Kelly Henson, Brandie Medina (Rahim), Enrique Madden, Ashley Pope, Nia, Justin, Terry, and Brian Rainey, Shaketta Denson Chimbers (Eric), the Laster family and a host of additional family members and close friends.
