Scott Dozier, Sr.

SCOTT DOZIER, SR., son of the late Sie Dozier and Catherine Scott, was born on October 13, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina. Scott was suddenly called home by the Lord on January 27, 2023. Following the death of his maternal grandparents, Scott and his four sisters moved to Baltimore where they were raised by his mother’s sister, the late Martha Snipe, who already had 6 children of her own. Scott accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age. In 1999, Scott joined Zion Baptist Church of Christ and was a faithful member and served as an Elder and choir member. Scott, affectionately known as “Mickey,” was educated in Baltimore City Public Schools. He proudly attended Paul Laurence Dunbar High School where he played on the basketball team and graduated with the historic June 6, 1966 class size of 666. After graduating high school, Scott worked at Allied Chemical until1976, when he started his career as a bus driver for the Mass Transit Administration. Scott loved his job as a bus driver. He always worked overtime and was consistently seen wearing his uniform. In 2008,after 32 years of service, Scott retired as an MTA light rail operator. Scott loved bowling, playing cards, cooking, sports and having a good time. His love of cooking kept a warm meal on the stove for all to enjoy. The Golden Corral was his favorite when going out to eat. He is preceded in death by his son Scott Dozier, Jr. (Bumpy) and brother Perry “Pepper” Dozier. Scott leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Darlene Dozier; twin sons, Terry Dozier (Kym) and Perry Dozier; daughter, Paula Annette Dozier; stepdaughter, Arlene Savage (Correy); sisters, Harriett Tisdale, Inez “Peggy” Rich, Dorothy Rice (William), Lynette Dozier and Eleanor Richardson; grandchildren, Amelia Dozier, Kacey Dozier, Asia Dozier, Kelcee Dozier, Perry “PJ” Dozier, Terinee Dozier, Gabrielle Lemons, Zion Dozier, Brooke Dozier, Noah Dozier, Kristopher Holt, Kush Carter Bey, Correy Savage II and Shiloh Israel; godson, Diarmid Davis; sister-cousins, Linda Snipe, Hilda Snipe and Brenda Snipe Howell (Rodney);devoted sister-in-law, Charlene Wallace; and a host of other loving family and friends.
