Ruth W. Cole

RUTH WHITE COLE was born on September 17, 1947 in Lunenburg County, Virginia to the late Robert and Ruth Overby White Jr. She went home to be with the Lord on October 15, 2022, after an extensive battle with cancer, Ruth resided with her family on a farm in Crew, Virginia and was baptized at an early age. She attended public schools in Lunenburg County and completed two years of college at North Carolina A&T State before moving to Maryland to live with her sister Louise. She began working for the Railroad system as a financial manager and later met Tyrone Cole Sr., whom she married in February 1974. From this union was born Tyronnia A. (Cole) Brandon, November 1975 and Tyronne C. Cole, Jr., April 1981. She retired from Railroad and continued her career at Provident Bank; later becoming a procurement specialist with the state of Maryland from which she retired. Being around family, friends, and enjoying life was very valuable to Ruth. Shopping and casino trips with her sister, birthday adventures with her daughter, and surprise visits from her son Tyrone Jr. were her favorites, as he often times cooked her dinner. But grandparent time with her grandsons Dana Ahmad filled her heart! Cooking her specialties for holidays and game time also brought her joy and fed our bellies with love. She loved the Lord just as much as she loved her family. She was a member of Galilee Baptist Church and later joined World Changes Church and Safe Refuge Ministries. Ruth’s faith NEVER waivered and she prayed like nobody’s business, one of the many “life” lessons she taught us. She was a giver, and helper. A mother and a wife, grandmother and a sister, an aunt and a friend. She was strong and always had a position word and a smile for you every time, texted or came to visit. It is all of THIS, that kept our family blessed and grateful. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Tyronne C. Cole, Sr. and her sister And brothers Louise Single, William White and James White. She is survived by: her children, Tyronnia A. Brandon and Tyronne C. Cole, Jr.; two grandchildren, Dana M. Jones LLL and Ahmad Cole; four nieces, Terry Smith, Linda Kemp, Caroyln White and Marie White; and a host of great-nieces, - nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
