Roy Edward Lewis,Sr.,entered into this world July 27, 1952 in Richmond,Virginia to the late Annie Dee Person-Lewis and Percy Lewis,Jr. He went home to be with the Lord on March 23,2009,a breezy spring day at Henrico Doctors Hospital. He was educated in Mechanicsville Public School System and was a proud graduate of Lee Davis High school,1969 Class. After high school,he worked at Dupont and became one of the best Safety Officers Dupont ever had. Roy received many recognitions and several accomplishments for his hard work. He was very well respected by his coworkers. Roy had been currently for Rainbow Car Wash & Tire Service as their manager for more than 8 years. He could do your car like no other.His thirst for the Lord never died because he always had Him in his heart. Roy meet Claudette in 1999 and was united as one on September 16, 2000. His father-in-law,Alfred was one of his best friends. Over the years Roy became a father figure to many of his nieces,nephews,and young men.He was affectiontely known as "Dave" and "UnKee Roy" by his famiy and friends. Roy was the ultimate workaholic,Jack of many trades and the master of all. He was a firm believer in providing for his family. DJ and Nikki was his every waking moment. They have always been his most proudest production in life. Roy cared for them just like his mother took care of her children,from bathing to braiding Nikkie's hair. He tried to provide the best he could with their every need with that "special Daddy kind of love". Roy loved to live life to the fullest and being with his family and friends. He was so smooth,he was so fresh,clean and stylish. He was always the life of the party. Roy always danced and over the years it became his own way of dancing. Roy was outgoing,caring and a wonderful family.Our beloved Roy leaves to cherish his loving memories to his devoted wife,Claudette Coleman-Lewis;two children,Roy E."DJ" Lewis,Jr.and Jovon"Nikki"Lewis;step-son,Antoine V. Coleman;nine sisters and brothers,Florence"Salma"Breedlove,Melodious(Debbie),Annie Dee Butler(Allen),Blanche E. Lawrence(Albert),Lizzie E. Bryan(George),Lois Brown(Mayland),Percy Lewis III,Alvert Lewis and Cleance B. Hammond;two sisters-in-law,Clarrisa Coleman and Pam Mason;two brothers-in-law,Nathaniel and Zachary Coleman;aunt,Louise Vaughan;uncle,James Anderson Person(Frances);a host of cousins,nieces,nephews,great-nieces,great-nephews,other relatives and friends.
