Rosette Pierre Louis

Rosette Pierre-Louis (affectionately known as "Manmi") was born on January 21, 1947 to Rosecianne and Edouard Pierre Louis in Beaumont, Haiti She fell asleep in death on Thursday, August 24, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones, after a lengthy battle with illness. Manmi was a fighter, who fought courageously for her health, her faith and her family despite health challenges. Manmi will forever be remembered for her courage, love, hospitality, sense of humor and delicious Haitian cuisine. Early in life, Manmi learned to be selfless. As the eldest daughter in the home, Manmi helped to raise her four sisters when she lost her father in her early twenties. As a self-taught seamstress, she ensured that everyone, including her daughters, were well dressed. Manmi emigrated to the U.S. in April 2001 with the help of her loving daughter Ludie. Upon her entry into the country, Manmi selflessly continued to work tirelessly to support her family. In spite of her weighty responsibilities, she always made the time to dote on her grandchildren--her pride and joy--and was thrilled to witness her grandson Cyrus' graduation shortly prior to her falling asleep in death. On one Saturday morning in , Manmi heard a life-altering knock on her door...and that was the day she met Alexandra Waters. Through many spirited Bible discussions, Manmi recognized the ring of truth; it resonated with her, as she had always been a women of strong faith. On November 15, 2008, she symbolized her dedication to Jehovah by water baptism and began a new journey with Jehovah as one of his Witnesses. Along the journey, Manmi gained countless daughters, nieces, sons and grandchildren who relished the opportunity to vacation with her, play dominoes, attend Bible-based conventions, cook, listen to her stories...and cook some more! Manmi was dearly loved to the very end. This fact was even noted by her hardworking medical team at GBMC who diligently cared for her. We will forever be grateful to her medical team. Today and ale=ways, we ask that everyone remembered Manmi's faith and courage. No matter the state of her health, Manmi never neglected her spiritual routine. Manmi's hope that she would see us all again soon, burned strong to the very end. May we all look to Jehovah for the courage to persevere and remain faithful to the end so that we can be there to welcome her back. Manmi is survived by her two sisters, Viviane and Gertrude; two daughters, Ludie and Jenny; two grandchildren, Cyrus and Sophie; several nieces and nephews, as well as a whole host of adopted daughters. including Natasha, Abighail, Loyda, Jasmin, Josephine, Bienca and Herlande, to name a few.
