Rosetta Marie Jackson

Rosetta M. Jackson, beloved daughter of Mariedith and Jerry Jackson, was born on May 24, 1958, in Baltimore, Maryland. Rosie departed this life peacefully on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Rosie accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at the Bread of Life Church. She received her education at Eastern High School, in Baltimore, MD, where she graduated in 1976. In June of 1988, Rosetta married Carol Owens in Baltimore, Maryland. Carol sadly passed in his later years. In Rosie’s earlier years, she worked efficiently at the Sun Paper Company and McCormick’s. For the past 15+ years, she worked as a Research Coordinator Supervisor, Senior Research Program Coordinator, and lastly a Coordinator of Clinical Trials at Johns Hopkins. Rosie loved to play cards, especially pinochle and cooking her favorite dishes. She also loved to watch different sports teams compete. Rosie was very family-oriented. She enjoyed spending time with her family during the holidays, birthday parties and any occasion. Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings were her favorite, as she got to laugh and joke with everyone, while seeing the babies of the family. Rosie also loved to travel with family and friends. She was easy-going and very supportive of anyone she loved and met. She always offered a helping hand, and treated all of her nieces and nephews as her own children. Rosie was a member of Truth & Life Family Worship Center. She was a true advocate for prayer and worship, under the leadership of Pastor Darryl K. Ham. Rosie was very involved with her church, including volunteering, fundraising events, toy drives, prayer line, and back to school events. She had a calm, funny, and caring personality. She loved to laugh and joke everyday if she could. Rosie is survived by her brothers and sisters, Lois Wright, Barbara Rice, Jerry Jackson and Reggie Jackson, Sister-in-Law Lorraine Jackson, and Brother-in-Law Bobby Wright, best friend Doretha James and a host of Nieces, Nephews, one Aunt and Cousins. Rosetta was preceded in death by her Mother Mariedith Jackson, Father Jerry Jackson, Sister-in-Law Vernice Jackson, Nephews, George James, Sylvester Jackson and Great Nephew Jonathan Dixon.
