The Life and Legacy of Ronnie Young "What I Did With My Dash..." My dash is the time God allowed me between being born on December 13,1935 and my entering into eternal rest on April 27,2011. I was born in Philadelphia,Pennsylvania,and I was my parents's only child. I received my early education from the Philadelphia school system and successfully graduated from high school. After graduating from high school, I joined the Air Force,on February 26,1954. I was honorably released from active duty with the Air Force on July 3,1957. I left the Air Force as an Airman Third Class. Following the Air Force,I continued to educate myself. I didn't major in anything particular. I guess you can say my minor was in everything and my major was in making people laugh! I could find humor in just about anything,and I had a way of making others see the same. One of my most memorable educational moments was completing the six-weeks Bible program in 1990. I spent most of my working career at the Defense General Supply Center(Bellwood). I retired from Bellwood after 20+ years of service. I received a few certificates,awards and recognitions during my tenure there. I played a lead role in heading up our Union. Look at the pictures! Somebody had to stand up for us...(laugh). Following my retirement, I picked up a security guard gig with American Security. My family often called me a "rent-a-cop",because I had to secure the premises unarmed. They asked me,if something were to happen while you were working as security,what would you do? I said,call the police! Speaking of my loving family,I leave to cherish in my memory,my devoted wife of 36-years,Annette,my daughter,Dianne Johnson,my son Michael Morgan,my granddaughter,Mary Louise Morgan and my great-granddaughter,Ceniya Jones. To my granddaughter,Mary,I want to say that it was a pleasure watching you grow up and become a beautiful young lady and a mom. I hope you will always remember our times together and our family vacations in Myrtle Beach,South Carolina. To the host of other relatives,family and friends that I have left behind to cherish in the wonderful memories of me..(laugh),remains three in particular. My cousins,Barbara Parham,her husband Alex(Bobby) Parham,and Reagenia Tydings. Thank you three for everything you've done for me from helping me plan an anniversary dinner for my wife,helping me organize our 4th of July family cookout at Bellwood,to being by my wife's side at the end of my dash. "If a man die,shall he live(again)?All the days of my appointed time will I wait;till my charge come." Until we all meet again,I pray you will always find comfort in knowing: "In my Father's house are many mansions;if (it were) not (so) I would have told you,I go to prepare a place for you."
