“ BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO MOURN, FOR THEY SHALL BE COMFORTED” Matt. 5:4 RONALD LEWIS STANCIL better known to many as Ronnie, son of the late William and Ruth Stancil, departed this life on Thursday , March 23, 2018. Ronald Lewis Stancil was born January 2, 1953 at Saint Joseph Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. Ronald was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1964 at Mount Pleasant Church and Ministries in Baltimore Maryland. While there he served on the Junior Usher Board. He had a special love for the bible and gospel music. One of Ronald's characteristics was his upmost respect for elders and older adults. In 1972, Ronald graduated from Edmondson Senior High School in Baltimore Maryland. He attended the Community College of Baltimore before enlisting in the U.S Army in 1973. later, Ronald served in the Maryland National Guard from 1977 to 1984. Having held several occupations in his lifetime, Ronald retired from the Department of General Services with the State of Maryland in 2006 due to issues with his health. He was very knowledgeable about a lot of things, from repairing cars to home repairs. All who knew him and loved him spoke about the matter in which he dressed. Ronald had swag, he believed in being well groomed. Ronald was a collector of baseball cards, DC, Defiant and Marvel Comic Books. Ronald was liked by everyone he met, he loved to talk and engaged people in conversation. Ronald enjoyed listening to music, watching western movies and television shows. Ronald enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a strong individual as he tried to not let his illness stop him from enjoying his life. Ronald is survived by one daughter, Tela Hurte, one son in law, Eric Hurte, one son, Ryan Kyle Stancil, three grandchildren, Taylor, Ashley, and Eric Jr., one sister, Linda l. Stancil- Wilkes, one uncle, Frank Stancil, and by his lifetime friend Vera Bailey; along with a host of family and friends.
