Ronald Clark Brown, Jr

Ronald C. Brown , Jr. beloved son of Ronald Sr. and Edith Brown was born at lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas on March 26, 1961. Being the son in an Aior Force family he was raised and educated all around the world . The family lived in Fairbanks Alaska, Washington D.C.,Hampton, Virginia, Adana, Turkey, Colorodo Springs Guam, USA, Bedford, Massachusetts, Bossier City, Louisanna, Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his high school education in Louisianna and decided to enlist in the U.S.Navy in 1979. Ronald was proud of his naval career and earned many accolades and honors during his 21 years of service. He attended technical training schools and became certified as a machinist and mechanic. He loved working on helicopters and took pride in knowing everything about all the different aircrafts. His naval career provided him further oppunities to travel the globe. Ron always spoke fondly of his “initiation” as he crossed the equator and the north poleon navy ships. His tours of duty were primarity in Mayport, Florida and SanDiego, California. He also was a navy recruiter in Baltrimore, MD Ronald served his country loyally with tours in the Middle East during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Because of his excellent performance and quality of work and leadership he was offered the opportunityto attend Officer Candidacy School. Ron declined preferring to be active in the field and working on “the birds” as he called them. He was promoted to the rank of Chief Petty Officer in 1998 and was was often referred to as “Chief because of his orderly Mannerisms. In 2000, he retired from navy and moved to Martinburg, West Virginia. After retirement, Ron attended tractor trailer school and become employed by USA Cartage trucking company. He loved driving his truck and kept his vehicle in impeccable condition. Again his excellent organization skills were evident in his work. He developed trip itinerary for each job that included estimated departure and arrival times and worked hard to keep to his schedule Ronald loved spending time with family and his best friend “Jet” of 35 years. Whenever possible he returned home for holidays, birthday celebrations, and other special occasions. He customarily wore the Santa suit and distributed gifts collected near the tree. He would always joke about family members that brought their gifts to the tree on Christmas morning while his had been in place for weeks before Christmas Even when he was out of state or country he would mail them with secret code so no one knew which gift belong to whom. He enjoyed golfing, racing, watching movies, cycling, music especially old school music, the opera, reading , and playing practical jokes, Ron was an avid lerner with walth of knowledge in many areas. He loved racing and fast cars and enjoyed watching races and other sporting events. Ron was compretitive in nature and always played hard to win. He even created a golfing trophy for which he and his best friend regularly competed: for that and for bragging rights. Ron had a kind and loving spirit and was always willing to help and share with others . He belived in the importance of family and making sure that everyone was taken care of. When you visited him he always rolled out red carpet and made sure that your every need was provided for and that you had a most enjoyed time. He gave his life to Christ at a young age, and attended many churches throughout his travels. He was an active member of Sunday schools, youth groups and youth choirs. Ron had a lovely voice, and enjoyed singing many church hymns, ballads, and karaoke -songs with family and friends. Ronald also had a serious side that allowed him to focus on tasks and complete them with perfection.He was the epitome of organization and structure, mixed with a fun loving side that brought laughter and joy to all who knew him. In 2009 he met lisa Hawk. Their friendship and love grew and they recently wed on August 6, 2011 Ron loved Lisa and they looked forward tp spending a life together. After a brief illness the Lord decided to call him home on Saturday, August 20, 2011 He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Lisa, his parents ronald and Edith Brown, sisters. Renee Johnson, Robin Brown and Rossalyn Purnell, his best friend and brother Chris Jeter. Brothers-in-law Timothy Johnson,Truet Purnell, and Nicholas Hawk (Tracey), mother-in-law Dolores Hawk, sister-in-law Peggy Jones (Chris) . Uncles James Brown (Doll) and Melvin Watkins, great-aunts Josephine Burley and Elizabeth Evans, special nephews Timothy Jr., Christopher Brittan and A.J. And a host of other nieces, nephewsm cousins, and other relatives.
