Ronald Lee Arnold

RONALD LEE ARNOLD was born on September 3, 1952, in Jacksonville, North Carolina to loving parents Phillip and Sarah Arnold. He was the second eldest of six children. On October 5, 2023, God called Ronald from labor to reward. Ronald’s early education was in the public school system of Onslow County Schools in Jacksonville, North Carolina. He remained in Jacksonville until the bright lights and melodious tones of Washington, DC beckoned him to the bustling city where he worked under the tutelage of the late Leon Grant and learned the craft of sanding and refinishing hardwood floors. It was during this time in DC that Ronald honed his skills while working with Mr. Grant, which led him to work for various hardwood flooring companies. Ronald’s excellent craftmanship afforded him the opportunity to work on floors at the White House and at the home of a Supreme Court Justice. Eventually, a man of God saw Ronald’s potential and invested in his future. This blessing led Ronald to start his own business, Georgetown Hardwood Floors. Because of his God-given charisma, expert craftmanship, and perfectionism, Ronald was revered by his customers throughout the DMV area. Ronald loved and took pride in his work for over 50 years. Ronald moved to Baltimore, MD where he met and married his loving and devoted wife, Regina, in 2010. It was Ronald’s infectious smile and witty sense of humor that won Regina over. They enjoyed thirteen years of traveling, shopping, cooking, watching football, and their favorite pastime, eating at various restaurants. Due to Ronald’s love of music, the two enjoyed going to concerts and listening to his favorite artists, Curtis Mayfield and Barry White. The couple also worked together to take care of Regina’s elderly parents, Oscar and Ora Robinson. Ronald loved the Lord and understood that Christ was the center of his life. He became a member of First Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant and served as a deacon, until his health began to fail; a member of the Male Chorus; and a greeter. Ronald also served as a past chaplain at the Masonic Grand Lodge. Ronald enjoyed food, and when he visited his hometown, you could find him partaking of the scrumptious food of his sister, Jan; brother in-law, Stan; and his cousin, Theresa Hatchell’s Jamaican cooking. A fried chicken breast did not last long around Ronald. It was during this time spent with family that his siblings witnessed Ronald’s impeccable memory as he recalled childhood events with vivid accuracy and then challenged his siblings to remember the events as well. Ronald leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Regina Arnold, Baltimore, MD; brother, Phillip (Gwendolyn) Arnold, Jacksonville, NC; sisters, Glenda Cox, Raleigh, NC; Sharon (James) Rhodes and Jan (Stanley) Thompson. both of Jacksonville, NC; brother, David Arnold, Washington, DC.; a special aunt, Dora Addison, Philadelphia, PA; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
