Roger McKinley Allen,

On Tuesday,February 16,2010,the Lord sent one of his angels to 5711 Old Union Road on a special mission to bring home to "Eternal Rest,"our beloved Roger McKinley Allen,Sr.-husband,father,brother,grandfatherand great-grandfather.Roger was born on March 31,1933 to the late Clifford and Juanita Allen of Charles City,Virginia. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings,Geraldine Christian,Elizbeth Gordon,Louis,Ernest,Warren and Roosevelt Allen.Roger confessed Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church. His occupation as a Truck Driver afforted him to hold employment at several companies and enabled him to retire as a bus driver for Charles City County Special Needs Transportation.Roger was a man who was true to himself and his beliefs. He was a wonderful husband and provider,an awesome father and a man who truly enjoyed and loved his family. Roger was always willing to lend a helping-hand to anyone in need,especially his grandchildren-whatever they needed-aload of pallets would take care of it. When he was not busy helping others,he took time out for himself by riding his motorcycle. It had to be a"Harley"-nothing else could ride as smooth as the "Harley".Roger truly enjoyed riding his motorcycle with family and friends.He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Christine C. Allen,who was attentive to his every need. Sometimes the road got rough and rugged,but the Lord continued to give her strength to endure;she never gave up.He also leaves his precious memories,daughters,Linda Faggins(John),Jill Graham(Jasper),son Roger Allen,Jr.;ten grandchildren,Natasha Holley(Steven),Corey Jones(Ayesha),Krystle Branch,Jamelrett Graham,Brittany Smith,Freeda Coles,Jasper Graham,Jr.Jazmine Graham,Conesia Johnson,John Faggin,Jr.;fifteen great-grandchildren,Ma`Kayla,Na`Kia,Lanasia,Jerri,Jaunteyah,Laqunae,Lorraine,Faith,Travis,Jordan,Cory,JaydenGraham,Jayden Wynne,Jaydell,Burrell;a sister Georgia Allen,a brother Issac Allen,two aunts;Alease Braxton,Mary Allen,ten sisters-in-laws,Fannie,Ernestine,Coral and Estelle Allen,Juanita Adkins,Emma Cotman,Bettie Winston,Nina Loving,Ida and Sarah Christian;two brothers-in-laws,Paul Smith,Sr. and Ralph Loving. Roger also had extended family members whom he adopted over the years. They would call him "Daddy Allen"(Mike&Diane Cary,Angela,David& Tee Graham,Patricya Croom,Carmen Adams and Lisa Weary)or "Grandpa Allen"(Ajoya,Myra,LaQuita,Terry,Kriston,Veronica,Marquis,Rachelle). He also leaves to cherish his precious memories,a host of nieces and nephews who he held in high esteem and other relatives and friends. Roger will truly be missed by everyone
