Roberta Dixie Lee Maxwell

ROBERTA DIXIE LEE MCNEILL (MAXWELL), daughter of the late Thomas Davis and Lucille McNeill, was born on October 13, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. Roberta transitioned to her new life with the Lord February 29, 2016. Roberta met Thomas Roberts In the late 60's and became the mother of one beloved child, Michael. She later married John Maxwell and welcomed two step-sons, John and Ernest. Roberta was a rambunctious girl growing up in the city of Baltimore. She received her education at Carver Vocational Technical High School. Later she attended BCCC and the Baltimore School of Bible College where she received her certificate of completion. In 2014, she began to volunteer for the Bible College. Roberta was employed by the State of Maryland for 17 years starting as a receptionist in the Department of Human Resources in 1972, and ended her services with the Maryland Governor's office in 2000. Roberta was a valued volunteer for over five years with the Baltimore City School System, with RSVP experience corp. and a host of other organizations as well. Gowing up, Roberta accepted Christ as her savior at an early age in Petersburg, VA. Always full of excitement and happiness, Dixie had an anointed voice and was always praising God through song, with such groups as the Fowlers, Wilkinsons, Chambers, Specials, Storemon, Ceaser, Armstrong singers and many more. Anyone who came in contact with Dixie left with something. She had no problem telling anyone exactly what was on her mind and didn't care if it hurt or not because it was truly her feelings. Dixie made relationships with everyone, some were a struggle because we all knew how straight forward she could be, but that was Dixie. She was the one you could count on at any time for anything, always willing to stand by your side. Even in your darkest hour a call from Roberta would always shed some light on your life, always letting you know that it will get better. Friendship is a beautiful thing to have in this lifetime, and Roberta was the very best friend to have. She was loved by many and this angel of God will be deeply missed. She attended, St. Pentecostal Holiness, New Antioch Baptist, Sloan Baptist and her beloved Prince of Peace, where she was currently a devoted and a loved member, who served as lead administrator. She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Satya; two step-sons, John and Ernest Maxwell; two nieces, Vicky Stewart and Bridgette McNeil; nephew, Anthony McNeil; four grandchildren, Anton Wade, Mike, MyKerria and Ma'Lonn McNeil; closest friends, Theodore Matthews, Laverne Bishop, Hattie Bridge, Margaret Bacon, Liz Hill, William Brown, Janice Gaither, Randy Hill, Pastor Maddox, Horace Miller and an extended host of relatives and friends. Preceding her in death are: two sisters, Letitia Stewart and Willie Mae McNeil and one godson, James Al Solomon
